Hi All,

Could you pls help to advise my situation: my wife and my son having study permit and inside Canada. My daughter and myself hold visitor visa and we plan to go to Canada middle Aug'16 with return ticket but I plan my daughter will stay at Canada and do study (7 grade) and I will go back my home country in Sep'16. Is it possible to me do my daughter visitor record (the same time with my wife study permit expired) at port of entry? or I should do visitor extension or study permit within Canada for my daughter.

last time, my son went to Canada in visitor visa and I did successfully study permit for my son within Canada.

Thank you for your help

Hi All,

I need your guidance regarding my situation, any answers are greatly appreciated.

I am currently working as a Food Counter Attendant in Saskatoon and have submitted my PR application (received in Sydney,NS on June 20, 2016). I have included my wife in my application (she's currently in the UAE.)

I would like to apply for SOWP, however, my work permit is expiring on Dec 2016 due to the validity of my passport. I have the new passport already and would like to apply for extension, but my consultant told me that they will not be able to apply the extension, unless there's 90 days or less remaining on my current work permit. I called CIC and they confirmed this, but they also said if I apply with a cover letter explaining why I wanted to have it processed earlier, the officer may consider, and worst that could happen is that it will be denied but I can make the submission when there's 90 days left on my current work permit.

I decided that I will just apply by myself. Would you suggest that I apply for my extension and the SOWP together? (according to CIC website processing time for me is 26 days, while my wife's is 23 weeks).

Would anyone know if my application is denied, will my wife's application be denied automatically? or will they be processed as 2 completely different applications?.

Thanks everyone!

CIC processes applications mainly by the visa office of current country of residence. However, for family cases they MIGHT process them together in which case you might get a result soon. However, there is no way to predict that. Any of these 3 options are possible.

a) You both get it processed together - with in 1 to 2 months - best case.
b) Yours get processed now but her's take the standard processing time - likely.
c) Even your application gets delayed and both of you are processed together but late according to her local embassy - less likely but possible

Since she is your dependent and that is the only criteria for her application, it would surely be dependent upon yours being approved. Since your current wp is valid for less than 6 months by the time hers can be approved, your CP does not have any weightage in this, unless you had a year left in current, and she applies and get it for at least 6 months validity.

Application no. Start with an alphabet(v-visitor,s-student,w-worker) followed by 9 digits.its generated after application submission.

In my knowledge UCI only comes on official documents from CIC. Like passport request or LOI
