I applied online in Canada for SOWP on 10th Oct. Anyone applied in Canada? Processing times seem to be way too long!

my spouse is coming to Canada this week, he has an open work permit so he needs to find a NOC 0, A, B job and only then I can apply for a SOWP. How long do you think he should work before I fill out the application form? Is 1 month enough?

I am international student in Canada. My wife applied for her Open Work Permit from India on 15th Nov 2015. It has been open since then. There has been around 5-6 updates on her application. The medical status was changed to "Currently under review" at around mid Dec.
Anybody on the same boat...its frustrating to be waiting for such a long time..

Date : 20 Nov 2015

Medicals, passport, documents provided upfront.

Approved : 13 Jan 2016.

HI,

Can anyone help me in some information regarding Spouse open work permit.
We got married in Oct, 2015 in usa and he is in usa right now.
So, should we apply from Canada or usa or India ?

I have open work permit till 2018 with NOC B level JOb in Saskatchewan and will be filling his SINP with me. But with SINP he cannot work in other provinces. So, we thought before we apply for SINP in Feb this year, we should apply work permit before.

What do you thing from where to apply with fast processing time ?

After medical request did you send anything from your end to High Commission Canada? Does anyone know if we have to forward the tracking receipt given by doctor after performing a test?

Yes, I send the Medical Exam Receipt to Delhi-im-inquire@international.gc.ca on 7th January. But still waiiting for responce.. even Medical status doesn't chnaged to passed or received

I don't really know but from other post it seems that it can take upto a week or two. Embassy is just taking too long for processing the visas.

Also I called high commission few days back to get an update. They told me to write an email on delhi-immigration@international.gc.ca. I don't know if the Delhi-im-inquire email address is no longer in service.
Any how its been 4 busi days but I haven't received any response yet.

Hi, I got the email back from delhi-im-inquiry@inter....... just in 24 hours after i send an email. They confirm we receive your email.

Ok I will send an email to both the addresses just to be on safe side. Also where you check status. I go to vfs global website and it doesn't say anything. Didn't even update that a medical request has been asked. Is there any other website to track paper based application?
