Hi @sarkris12 - thanks for sharing the info, certainly motivating and helpful.
I have a question related to somewhat similar scenario. My open work permit application was rejected amidst the whole LMO suspension fiasco and i was in limbo status uptil August 2015 when i got the letter from cic indicating the wp has been rejected. Meanwhile i had applied for visitor visa that also got rejected so i am out of status now. Last month i got married to my long time bf - who is a permanent resident and we are starting to file the spousal sponsor application process asap.
My question : am i eligible to apply for an open work permit now that i am married ? Its my sisters wedding in february, what are my options/chances of obtaining atleast a travel document by then :(

Hi guys , please help

I am on pgwp working full time NOC B
I will apply for sowp however my spouse already had 2 TRV rejections
I want to make sure this time I do not make mistakes
I have seen posts on this forum saying sowp refused because of the reasons like country ties, employment situation, purpose of visit etc
How can I show ties and what purpose should I mention as the only genuine purpose is to "work"

Any help would be really appreciated

Hii,
Since you have two rejections you can provide additional documents according to the refusal letter.

My TRV visa was rejected once and later it was granted after submitting additional documents...according to my understanding 3 main things you will have to prove to the visa officer.

1.Proof that your spouse will come back after the visit or work and she can support herself during the visit
(family ties include old parents, family commitments, proof of property in the home country including sale deed, property tax paid, get the property evaluated by a chartered engineer, get affidavit of support if property belongs to parent or spouse, bank statements,FD,leave letter from current job, salary slip etc)

2.Evidence of relationship and continued relationship with your sponsor.
marriage certificate,photos,email conversation,watzup messages etc)

3.Supporting documents from sponsor(invitation letter,bank details, job offer letter,job reference letter with noc,salary slip,lease agreement for accommodation,passport copy,visa copy,tax paid.)

Hope this helps!!

Hi Everyone

I just want to share my case of SOWP. I applied for my spouse SOWP on the basis of my PNP I have NOC C job and post grad work permit. My spouse got rejection within a month stating reason Spouse NOC which was an error( as the rules got changed after the rejection on 9th november). I sent an email to program manager at New Delhi in India and we received an email for passport request they have changed the status to open. So guys never lose hope it was our 3rd time that we applied for SOWP and this time we got it approved after the rejection.
Timeline

Applied online : 7th october 2015
Medical Passed : 10th October 2015
Rejection : 4th November ( Reason was error in law )
Sent email for reconsideration : 13th November program manager Delhi India ( Ms. Shannon Fraser )
Got file reopen : 9th Dec
Passport request : 9th Dec
Passport Submit : 9th Dec

This discussion group has helped me a lot. Thanks for the support and your views.

Hi

Just searching through internet I came across an article which states if you are applying for work permit in Quebec first you have to get CAQ
Is it true
Because i am working full time NOC B in Montreal and will apply for my spouse's sowp.
So does my spouse need a CAQ

Hay Folks,

I am on Post Graduation Work Permit in Canada and doing Skilled Job under NOC A.
I got married (Nikkah) in May 15' and registered in Nadra. Now i want to bring my wife in Canada on Open Work Permit but i need some guidlines as i can't fully understand the procedure to apply OPW for spouse.

If any one can tell me what documents we require and how to submit those documents/procedure (Either submit Canadian high consulate in Lahore or Islamabad or Online).
What documents would be require from my side as well as from my wife's side.

Also if you can tell step by step guideline (Will take you 5 minutes to write, but will safe my lot of time :) that would be much appreciated
Thanks..

hi sarkris12

read your post about applying WITHIN CANADA WHILE YOUR SPOUSE is in INDIA.

our representative actually advised my CLP to apply me (SOWP) and my son (TRV)
using his MYCIC account to make it as an IN CANADA APPLICATION.

what are the chances of this? is this the same process you made? hope to hear from you soon. thank you
