Hi,

Below is answer form help centre from CIC.

I’m pregnant. Can I wait until after I give birth to take the medical exam?
No. You will still need to undergo a medical exam even if you are pregnant. However, certain parts of the exam may be postponed until after you give birth. In that case, your application will be assessed only after all mandatory medical requirements are met. You should discuss your options with the Panel Physician performing your medical exam.

I suggest you to complete the application process with whatever documents Doctor provides deferring Chest X-ray. Once baby is born you can get Chest X-ray done the next day.

Your application will be on pause mode until after you are able to submit your wife's medical report (X-ray).

Panel physician will upload the report directly to CIC, You just have to raise CSE and inform about the new born baby If possible attach BC of the kid. CIC will revert if any additional docs are required.

Hi,

below is the response from one of the thread.

"I'm bit worried though they gave me pregnancy deferral letter and told me to upload it under medical requirement. Does that mean my application will be delayed until such time I gave birth? Actually, My husband is the principal applicant and I'm the spouse. Some says it will depend on my husband's papers because he is the principal applicant and not mine and I'm not so sure but I'm still worried that it might affect our overall application. I'm due by August and that's 3 more months Away. Does anyone knows how will be the process? Thanks in advance."

Please check with Panel Physician for the Deferral letter. Submit your application with all the available documents. As you know they will keep your application on hold until your baby is born and you complete rest of the procedure and check with them by logging case specific enquiries if in doubt.

Hi,

I am in the similar situation, I received an ITA and my wife is 20 weeks pregnant. She has a job here in US and wont be accompanying me to Canada right away. But I came to know that she has to undergo the medicals and all the documents as well, I got her FBI PCC and trying to get Indian PCC.

My Major question is, if I submit all the documents except x-ray of my wife. Will I be given PR and allowed to enter Canada or my entire application will be kept in hold? What happens after the baby is born? Anyone gone through this? Please.

Your application will continue to be processed, but it cannot be finalized until your wife completes the medical (e.g. after the baby is born). When your child is born, he/she will have to be added to the application, but that's not a big deal (although unless the child is born in Canada, s/he will need a passport right away). Basically you would submit an online inquiry informing IRCC of the change in family status (new child) and attach scans of the birth certificate and passport.

We have been blessed with baby girl. Also completed X-ray today. I got an email from CIC asking for below details

"Client Information: Please proceed with medical once child is born This must be received at this
office by: 2017/05/10."

In my submitted application, I can see one new option "Replacement Needed" to upload the document.

Can you please let me know what needs to be uploaded here?

will x-ray results shared by clinic which I needs to be uploaded?

- Hi Congrats,
So what did you do in your case for 'REPLACEMENT NEEDED' option ? As I am also in same situation as yours (submitted application in March 8, 2017 with medicals except X-ray for my spouse as expected due date: 16th June 2017).

Hi Senior members, I am stuck in a situation, need expert help...
My ITA will expire on July 22
My wife is pregnant, would like to defer her x-ray (the EDD is Oct 30).
My IELTS expires on Oct 8, 2017

CIC website says " In case of x-ray deferral, your application will be assessed only after all mandatory medical requirements are met"...does this mean that if I submit all forms (minus my wife's xray) before the ITA expires, I will have to take the IELTS again?

@thinkshady, What if the IELTS expires after filling out the PR form (with x-ray of the wife deferred) but before the x-ray of the wife (post childbirth)? Since CIC states "your application will be assessed only after all mandatory medical requirements are met", does that mean the IELTS need to be retaken?

Your IELTS scores should be valid when you submit your application. Once you receive AOR, it gets locked.
