Spouse in Canada, sponsor PR

Hello experts,

My spouse is visiting me in Canada on a tourist visa and I am planning to sponsor her PR. I am in the process of preparing the documents and would like to know if I need to use the application package for permanent residence from within Canada or outside Canada?

I was assuming it would be outside canada as she still lives in India and is just visiting me on a tourist visa but would still like to confirm.

Also, the entire application package could be sent outland. Is that correct?

Any help would be appreciated.

If she is returning back to India then you would have to use the outland application package. Inland is only for those where the applicant is resident in Canada with the sponsor.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by 'the entire application could be sent outland'? All applications both inland and outland are sent to Mississagua in the first instance where they assess the eligibility of the sponsor before CIC send it to the appropriate visa office for processing of the applicants part.
