now im really confuse :o

do i have to obtain that certificate or not? according kay mam filipina, no need na ng certification, i'll just bring my license there and after 3 months i can apply for a new one...

im open for any suggestions.... medyo naguguluhan lang po :D

@ chocomilky congrats, sana kami na din ang next this month... ;)

listen to your wife she is correct when she said you have to get a certification from the LTO :) for the following reasons:

the Phillipines have no reciprocal licence exchange agreement with Alberta, Canada so full testing will be required to get an Alberta licence even if you have a valid Philippine Driver`s license, and you had been driving for eight years now so you`re okey, they only need 2 year driving experience.
When you land in Canada, you go to a registry and take your learners test. you hand in the certification and the licence. That being said, in order to apply for the GDL exemption, you don`t have to wait for a year to get your road test for your Class 5.

Upon arrival, you can still use your your valid (non-expired) LTO license for 3 months upon arrival

For Air Canada and Westjet travellers:

Air Canada said on Wednesday it will start charging economy passengers C$20 ($20) for a second checked bag on domestic flights.
The announcement comes a week after WestJet Airlines Ltd, Air Canada's biggest domestic rival, introduced its second bag fee.
Air Canada's charge, like WestJet's, takes effect for travel from January 19. The first checked bag flies without charge.

So if you`re travelling with Air Canada and Westjet after January 19, 2011 be prepared lang for an additional 20 canadian dollars sa second checked in bag and also sa excess baggage fee nyo.

Tickets purchased before November 11, 2010 or travel before January 19, 2011:
Check 2 bags free

thanks for the reply.
dalas ako mag-check sa ECAS using immigration file #. Tpos un nga, nakapagpamed kmi anak ko last sept 21 at nai-forward nman daw ng clinic last Oct 6. sbi ng iba eh notice from embassy ang hihintyin ko or PPR. Tama ba? thanks Mwahugs....

ska nakalagay nga din pla sa ECAS ko na they started procesing the application July 26 2010. Ibig ba sbhin eh mag-start na ako magbilang ng sinasbi nila na 15 months processing period?

very informative... how about getting a driver's license in toronto? What will be the procedures if I have an existing non-prof philippine drivers license?

guys... tulong naman ohhh...
pls
nung nag ppr na kami ang hiningi sa akin is passport tapos advisory on marriages...

ang pinadala namin is yung passport at saka marriage certificate galing sa NSO....

mali....sana yung advisory on marriages talaga...dko kasi alam na may ganun pala...
anong puede kong gagawin guys???
august 30 ko pa naipadala yung passport at saka yung mariage certificate...
until now wla parin kaming nadinig galing sa kanila...
we started our application first week of july...

you`re still within the time frame for spousal sponsorship so don`t panic. in my opinion and other members will have an opinion based on their experience, i`ll just wait for the next letter from the manila visa office asking you for the AOM. do you have your AOM with you now? in a not related matter, have you paid your right of permanent residence fee? if you did this will save you some time too.

ANSWERED PRAYER!!! I GOT MY VISA!!! :D

And everything is all set!!! Have the CFO sticker na and a flight that leaves tomorrow morning at 9am!! WOHOOOOO!!!!! Di naman ako masyadong nagmamadali. :D

Guys, this might be the last post I do in a while. Ghelbeng and dream, kayo na sunod!!!! :D

Thanks again for all the best wishes and prayers!!!

Good Luck to all of you who's still in the process.
