Thanks for the advise Nester, concerning limited validity passport my sponsor was asked by the VO if he tried applying for one instead of waiting for the normal passport processing. This goes without saying that applying for limited validity passport is possible. Anyway, we will know this next week once we talk to Canadian Consul.nester said:@ jl_pamittan

reading through the immigration rules, mas mahirap kumuha ng limited validity passport kaysa regular passport. Secondly, why apply for it e hindi naman revoked or suspended yung passport niya for cause which is subject of denial/suspension of passport services, or wala namang urgent and compelling humanitarian reason. Thirdly, he has a pending request for replacement which he can ask for immediate processing/release instead dahil may immediate need.
Yung sa 30 days, i believe the letter you are waiting for have the same date as when the VO called you up. Ang timelines nila ay based sa date ng letter, not when you receive it. It is up to you to justify kung madedelay ka pagsubmit. But having prior knowledge dahil tumawag nga sila, you cannot use that as excuse.
I think what you can do is to follow-up in writing the replacement application, attaching a copy of the letter of the VO to justify the need of immediate processing and release. Emphasize the limited time granted to you, and that he will travel within a week upon release. madali nang ilusot yang 1 week na yan pag hawak na ang passport.
Then write CEM, attaching a copy of your follow-up letter, and execute an affidavit of undertaking that he will make arrangements to return to canada within 2 weeks after release of the passport. At that point, going to canada is already a must. A plane ticket will not do as proof....kahit sino pwede kumuha nyan at icancel later on.
So while the passport is not yet released, CEM/CIC cannot take this against you. Anyway, the affidavit will be a strong evidence against your husband to revoke his citizenship pag di niya tinupad ang nakasulat dun. Sa ganitong paraan, parang ibinalik mo sa kanila ang bola.
Medyo nakaka inis lang yung VO since... obvious naman sa mga supporting documents na pinasa namin na impossible talagang maka balik agad sa Canada yung sponsor ko since he's still waiting for his Citizenship card replacement and it will take another 2-3 weeks more to apply for a new passport. Parang mga inconsiderate sila sa situation namin... The point that my sponsor applied to renew the passport is a clear indication that my sponsor will return to Canada... Dont know bakit di nila ma-accept yun...
