Sa unang tanong mo, usual processing times, 28 days for Sponsorship Approval, and 14 months for Permanent Residence Approval. I'm afraid, baka hindi ka na makaabot by the time your wife gives birth.

Sa pangalawang tanong mo naman, have you gotten correspondences from CIC via email or by mail? If you did, you should see a UCI number indicated on the letter. Take note of this number and go to www.cic.gc.ca. You can check the status of your application there. Pero disclaimer lang, the only thing that you would see there is kung kelan naapprove yung wife mo to sponsor you (under Sponsorship Approval) and "application received" (under Permanent Residence Application). Kasi base sa feedback ng mga tao dito sa forum, nagcchange lang yung status mo (PR Application) to "In Process" once malapit na nila irequest yung passport mo, which usually takes 6-8 months (that is kung swerte ka). Pero after pa nila makuha yung passport mo, bibilang ka rin ng ilang buwan before you can get it back (no trend. very erratic ang CEM sa times kung kelan sila nagbibigay ng visa) usually, yung mga tao dito sa forum, nagrerely na rin sa kani-kaniyang timelines para malaman kung kelan nila makukuha visa nila, like kung meron ng nakatanggap ng visa na kapareho nila ng timeline, they also expect na rin na hopefully, susunod na rin sila.

Well its up to you if lahatin mo.. basta yung sakin nag provide lng ako just in case hanapin nila but nung nag one on one interview with the counselor hindi naman tiningnan...

Ask ko din po sana sa mga may visa na pag na return naba yung passport may validity period ba once naibalik na syo ng embassy yung passport, na dapat makaalis kana before it end? like how many days average kung meron?

yup, i received mine dec.2013 and it expires april 2014. so i need to go to canada before april.

mali pala. hindi ikaw yung makakatanggap ng correspondences. yung sponsor/wife mo. ako kasi, tamad magcheck si hubby so, ako ngccheck ng mail nya at sa cic. haha.

NewbieMay, the entire process took only 7 months for you? Applied May 2 and recieved it on Dec 1. That is the fastest I heard. Any idea why it was so fast for you?

Sadness, if the requested your passport on 12-07-2013, why are you picking up the visa this coming Monday? It shouldn't be 6 months between when they request the passport and when they give the visa.

yup no additional requirements from then.. just my passport and Apendix A maybe because the strike 3 months plus the yolanda typhoon... they prioritized the effected that's why they extend my medical too...
