Spousal sponsorship

Hi guys,
I really need your help. Talking with my friend as he sent his application and asking a question regarding use of representative, He STRONGLY believes that I as Sponsor (one of the main parties of the Application) can not be a representative of my spouse (PA). is that true? because the guide specifically says I can. besides in the section D of use of representative also asks for sponsor signature. I should sign that part too if I am the rep.
Also, now I am doubtful about applying online or paper based? any suggestions thanks

Sponsor can be rep (unpaid or course).
If this question confounds you despite the instructions being perfectly clear, suggest you stick with the paper app. The online app is new and fewer people who can answer questions.
I just filled the forms on behalf of my spouse (PA) as she was unfamiliar with IRCC forms and Canada website. that makes me feel that I need to fill out representative form but still can I don't do that? Will they find out they are not filled by PA? (She signed all of them herself I just filled and print)
you dont have to be ur wife's rep.
and yes its all good if u have filled the forms as long she signs for herself
you dont have to pay, biometrics are valid for 10 years and they will know that ur wife is exempted
Sorry, this is only partially true: biometrics are valid for 10 years.
BUT: longstanding policy has been that PR applicants must give new biometrics when applying. (Why? Don't know).
BUT: right now, due to covid, they have waived this requirement for those with valid biometrics. (They could cancel this at any time, in theory).
My point is that applicants should be aware that due to this series of 'nested "buts"', some oddities may come up. Like requests to pay when there have already been biometrics given. Some may prefer to pay and avoid potential delays, some may prefer to deal with it later.
Almost always these seem to work themselves out as IRCC figures it out, though.
my understanding is that if you leave the "DATE" section blank, and press validate, it will still validate and generate barcodes. meaning the date is not important in generating barcodes.
furthermore, after validating, they specifically said to sign and date the application, meaning you can actually write dates using a pen.

We are in the process of preparing spousal sponsorship application for my wife and I have a couple of questions.
We have applied for my wife's visitor visa in Jan 2021 and haven't received a decision yet.
1. I am a permanent resident and we are planning to submit spousal sponsorship application. Is is ok to submit the application or should we withdraw visitor visa application before submitting spousal sponsorship application?
2. In IMM 1344e, #6, under sponsor eligibility assessment asks "Have you submitted a previous application in respect of which a final decision has not been made for the person being sponsored and their family members". Is this referring to other sponsorship applications (duplicate) or any IRCC applications? In our case we have submitted visitor visa application which is still in process.

Since it validated then you are good, if it needed the date before being able to validated you would see it as an error or omission.
1. No you do not have to withdraw the TRV application.
2. Your answer is yes and it is the TRV because it's still in process, no big deal, won't affect either application.

I have a slight concern though with answering yes to the question, because
1. TRV is technically submitted by my wife and not me
2. It says "If you answer yes to any question from 6 to 15, you may not be eligible to sponsor"
Although it say "may", I just wanted to be sure.... Is it ok if I answer no and give explanation in LOE?
