Hi all,

I applied inland PR under family sponsorship in June 2018, but havent received my PR yet. I was referred for IRCC Vancouver for further eligibility check ups in the end of year 2018 but havent heard back since. If I go to federal court against immigration for delaying in giving decision that has Impacted mine, my kid and wife's life, would that help? Please advice.

That's likely something only a lawyer can give you proper feedback on, and keep in mind, it may not be cheap. (My own guess is that it would likely not have much prospect of success, because - amongst other things - covid). There is potentially a process / type of legal maneuver but it is NOT simple or easy.

You wrote in a separate thread here from November:

What follow-up have you taken since and what response? Did you contact the MPs office? Any other correspondence or contacts with IRCC, or other? Have you actually spoken to a lawyer yet?

Since it was November when you last wrote and you had been requested to submit police clearance and something else, I'd also suggest ordering GCMS notes again.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

Yea I did provide all what IRCC's automatic system's repetitive reqests were made for medical and Police clearence, but yet again they didn't move my file any further. I checked with a couple lawyers, they have given a few options like going for federal court, or wait etc. Since housing prices are going up and my kid is already 2, I am very desperate to get my PR done so that I can do education for better job opportunities and buy a house for my family which seems like would be near to impossible to buy in a couple more years if prices would keep getting increased by over 20% yearly as they soared from last year.

I am sponsored by my wife for PR. I am having open work permit sponsored by her. I am looking to do a few short courses for better job opportunities. I am interested to become a Home Inspector, entire programme is shorter than 6 months. Can I take part while having current work permit? My work permit says I am prohibted to attend any educational institution or vocational training course. Is that for full 1 year programme or for any short course aswell. Please advice.
Any if in case I still do my course, wpuld that be a crime?

Have you approached your MP or any other? Have you ordered GCMS notes again? You say your file has not moved further, but how do you know this?

What did lawyers say? Honestly, you should not expect even somewhat informed people on a board like this to give you better legal advice. And certainly pointless to ask here about what chances are when you don't share what the lawyers you spoke to actually said.

I for one do not know about this - but the language of what your work permit says seems pretty clear. I would assume a Home Inspector programme - especially if it leads to any type of certification - would appear to be a vocational training course. If you want more specific advice - unless you happen to get lucky with a specific response here - again, speak to a lawyer or immigration specialist.

You'll have more luck getting a specific answer if you provide info about the specific course.

Yea we tried getting in touch with MP office or the girl responsible, as that MP lost his seat in last election that girl who used to work there and reported against me doesnt work there anymore neither shes using her the same contact number anymore. I would do GCMS notes again today its a good idea. I did spoke to two lawyers on phone for like a minute but that didnt help much, they charge high and answer questions upon appointment that isn't in our budget at this stage. I know federal court request would cost me a few thousands in fee for lawyers but that would be the last option we would be left.

Contact the new MP instead.

In your previous post you left out the relevant information that the MP is no longer in office. I mean, if you wish to get some assistance from outsiders, try to include information that makes a difference.

And sure, you spoke to a lawyer, but you didn't consult with a lawyer. You're not going to get much useful information from a lawyer without actually getting a consult.
