If your husband has already filled in his (sponsor's) forms and attached his section of the application, then you can send it directly to CPC-M. Obviously if you don't have his half of the application then you have to send it to him for him to add his forms and documents, then he can send it to CPC-M.

hi everyone!
my husband petitioned me as a common law spouse.
i already received a letter from Canadian embassy (manila) requesting for my passport, marriage certificate, and marriage advisory dated June 20, 2011. The letter states that i need to pass all the necessary requirements within 45 days basing on the date of letter, which is June 20, 2011

i have a couple of questions here,

1. is marriage advisory same with CENOMAR? if not where can i get it?
2. we are planning to go Hongkong this July 22-24, 2011, is it just ok if i will go to Hongkong, as well? do you think this will delay the processing of papers in any way?

Attend the seminar if you are married to a Canadian. They will give you a certificate and will put sticker in your passport. Without it, Immigration Philippines will not allow you to go out of the country. It is walk in, so just bring your requirements, call them for more info.

What do they teach you in this seminar? It is actually not a bad idea to teach spouses about their rights in case the relationship goes bad.

Yes, to teach us about our rights and what to do once we land. The government made this as a law, I think back in the 1970s. That is because there are lots of cases where wives are abused by their foreign husbands (fiancees) or, the other way around, men being used to obtain visas ( marriage of convenience). It is a case to case basis, so if they have doubts, they will try to discourage you and talk to you. But in the end, it is always the person's decision but at least the government is trying.

But if they see that your relationship is genuine and straightforward, no "red flags", you will not hear anything discouraging, just the usual talk and then they will just give you more info about immigration policy and such.

Hi guys!

I've been reading this thread for the past few days and its been really great. You guys have answered a lot of doubts and questions I have.

Anyway, I'd really appreciate it if anyone can help me. I'm planning to sponsor my spouse to be, and I'm wondering if she has the medical a few days before marriage, will it be valid? 4 days before marriage to be exact. (I know this question has a thread of its own but it was 2009)
