Hi all,
I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to.
Sponsoring my husband from outside of country, he is American. Our 3 month old daughter and I live in Canada.
Do we all need to submit physicals with the initial application? Or just him? Or can we wait?

Thank you!
you as the sponsor do not submit medical. if your daughter is a canadian citizen or PR, then she does not either. if she is not a canadian citizen or pr, then she needs to be added to the application as a dependant seeking pr status and submit a medical.

note the terms "family members" and "spouse" found in the applicant forms do NOT refer to the sponsor spouse. these are standard forms for all streams of immigration, therefore these terms are only referring to "family members" or a "spouse" that is seeking PR status in the application (ie: a married couple applying together or a dependant child who is not a canadian citizen or pr). For application purposes you are ONLY considered the "sponsor".

Great. And should we send his medical with the application package or can we wait and submit it later when they ask for it?

Why?

It's fact.

Each day spent with your Canadian spouse outside Canada counts towards RO.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5445ETOC.asp#appendixA

"You may also count days outside of Canada as days for which you satisfy the residency obligation in the following circumstances:

Situation 1. Accompanying a Canadian citizen outside Canada

You may count each day that you accompanied a Canadian citizen outside Canada provided that the person you accompanied is your spouse, common-law partner or parent (if you are a child under 19 years of age).

Evidence required

You must provide supporting documents to prove that:

The person you are accompanying is a Canadian citizen; and
You are the spouse, common-law partner or child of that person."

Hello guys! :)

Do you have any idea on how long would it take for the medical request to be sent after receiving an AOR from the manila immigration office? AOR was received on July 4, 2016.

Do i have to wait for the request or could i do the medical exam upfront?

I'm a sponsored spouse applicant from the PH. :)

Thank you guys for the help. :)

Medical exam would ideally have been done before you filed the application and the eMed sheet sent with the application

Got a message from CIC on my Ecas saying that they sent correspondence on August 12th, this is what they wrote: -

We sent you correspondence on August 12, 2016. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

I've checked my email, both inbox and Spam, every day and have still not received any correspondence. I emailed them using both the generic enquiry form as well as emailing the Ottawa office, which is where our application is. I still haven't had a reply.

Any tips?

No, you leaving Canada will have no effect on an outland app. You can be anywhere in the world while an outland app processes.

Hi guys - I am trying to sponsor my common law partner. What is the easiest way of attaching WhatsApp messages? I have a tonne and a half of these messages. Do I print the txt file that I get if I export my chats to an e-mail, or do I take screen shots or is it a combination of the above? Also, must I include the full history of our chats or just selected exchanges to show that we've been in communication?

You help is appreciated - as always!!

Hi ppl,

My "to be spouse" is a Canadian PR and we are planning to marry 3-4 months down the line.

I am planning to apply for a visitor visa after marriage and then apply under "In Canada class or Inland".

Also, I've a 10-yr US visa and I've been there twice so I'm assuming that I'll get the TRV.

Please guide if this is the right or wrong way.

Thanks in anticipation! Smiley Smiley

Hi

I suggest you include both as email extracted chats can be edited.

Show a screenshot and then the longer extracted chat.

Take one or two conversations from each month of your relationship.

Also, if you're common law and the applicant is visa exempt the communication proof is not the most important relationship proof to begin with. Communication is more important to show for married couples who live long distance.
