Hello Everyone.

I'd like to share my timeline with you all please.

Application Received by CPC = May 2012.
Medical Done = March 2012.
Sponsor Approval = August 2012 ( Canadian Citizen)
Started Communication with CIC - LVO / ISB = january 2015. ( Asking them when case will be finalised ).
On line Status Changed from Received to In - Process = September 2015

Still in Process - background checks ongoing and review is not final yet.................!!! I have asked them so many time about the delay but LVo / ISB is not addressing my query and just say please wait....background check / review is not final yet.

Hi! Thank you for replying to my question. Once again, I'm Canadian and my husband is American. I'm sponsoring my husband via the Outland spousal sponsorship process. Our application is in "permanent residency progress". We have submitted a document stating that he cannot obtain a medical exam for his child. My husband has tried to obtain his son's medical exam. We're hoping that we get a response so about our application as it's coming to 13 months this coming week.
We're looking forward to celebrating once our application has been approved and my husband gets his residency.

I just got married few weeks ago and would like to start filling out my application to sponsor my husband. My question is do i need to have my name changed first? Or can I use my maiden name and just attach our marriage contract?

Changing your name isn't an issue. It is more important they don't find any reason to doubt that your relationship isn't genuine and for that you have to show communications and financial support and photographs of the wedding/honeymoon/time you spent together.

I didn't change my name either but we submitted a lot of evidence supporting our relationship.

Can some senior members guide me with regards to how long the below checks take? My MP enquired and informed me of the following :

"Medical and eligibility checks for the file have passed and currently they are performing the criminality check. However, as of today, they have not begun the security check portion of the file."

My questions are:

1) If eligibility has been passed does that mean now I dont have to worry about interview?
2) How long does the criminality and security portion take?

CIC reserves the right to call applicants for any interview at any time, so while you should be okay, it's impossible to say that you don't have to worry about that for sure.

For outland application, if my spouse is currently residing in UAE but he is a Filipino Citizen. Should we be attaching the UAE checklist or the Philippines checklist? Thanks so much

Had interview in the end of january from bangladesh.
Visa officer asked for medical. Medical been done and send on the next day.
E-cas showed medical received on February 7th.
And from then there is nothing. What to expect now?

I assume you passed the interview, since they asked for medical. If you pass your medical, you will get a PPR. Nothing you can do but wait patiently

Salam, My husband has sponsered me and submit sponcership application on may 2012 and received sponcer approval email on august 2012. After that we did not receive any innfo about my file.we start communication with LVO in january 2015 and they replied background checks are going on and file is with officer for review. Finaly few days back they called to nikkah registrar asking about authenticity of marriage (nikkah).
Can some senior member guide me how long other checks will take place after this nikkah confermation.plz reply as its already very late and me, my husband nand children are suffering because of this dely.best regards

We sent CIC what they had requested which was my husband's birth certificate and my husband's medical exam (copy of receipt given by medical doctor's office). We had sent all these documents by e-mail as per CIC's request. I got a reply that they had received them.
What's next?? We're hoping this is it!! But, how much longer?? Please help us and give us advise. Thank you. We appreciate it.

In the sponsorship evaluation form, if you are working on an open ended contract as an individual without incorporation should you add details to "Emploted" section or "Self employed" ??
