In some cases, documents and forms can be based on country of residence and not only country of origin. With respect to Guide 3911, CIC Abu Dhabi called me to confirm that completion of the form related to Residents of Abu Dhabi is based on country of residence and NOT country of origin. My husband is Syrian but because he lives in the UAE, he still needed to complete the forms required for residents of Abu Dhabi. However, it also happens that the Guide for Middle East residents covers both Syria and UAE. I have a friend who is sponsoring her Morrocan husband who lives in the UAE...and they weren't sure. If you look at the entire guide though, it references "residents" and not "citizens"...which is a bit confusing.

Where one's visa application gets sent to is a completely different matter...as you say, mostly based on country of origin (but can also be based on country of residence) or on the caseload (it could go somewhere else altogether).

C.
I know right? I have read that too from Guide 3911 that's why we decided to do the Abu Dhabi visa office requirement. My husband is working in Saudi Arabia for over 6 years already. And we got really surprised to find out that his application was sent to Manila.

Hello sir, i just would like to ask for your kind advice regarding change of marital status before landing. My girlfriend and I have been together for 5 years but not common law and we already have plans on getting married but the problem is that she already have the visa and it wil expire this November 2015.My question is that we are aware that if we got married we should inform the cic immediately. Here in Philippines marrigage cert is issued 2 mos after the marriage. We are thinking the processing time for additional family member (spouse) might over the date of expiration of my girlfriend's PR visa. Will her PR visa be affected or revoke if that's the cas? Does she needs another medical? Is it possible if they will send back first her visa for an updated marital status while I will just wait for mine? (Just not to reach the expiration of her visa)

can someone tell me exactly which fees should I pay before submitting the application for spouse sponsorship?
If it's just you and your spouse in the application, you should pay 75 + 475 + 490 (the 490 is the 'Right of Permanent Residence Fee') = 1040 CAD in total. Don't forget to print the confirmation and attach it to your application. Good luck :)

If you want to get married before she lands in Canada and becomes a PR, then she will have to return her PR visa once she is married to the visa office along with a note letting the visa office know she is now married. She will also have to send all of the paperwork (forms, other documents) required to add you to her application. CIC will then process your part of the application. Once they have approved you - they will issue a new PR visa to both of you at the same time.

It depends. Some people received an email the same day (for example some of May applicants), some people receive it a week or two later, some people never receive it. The same with mail - some people get the letter a week/two weeks later, some don't. Some people never receives an email or a letter, some receive both. Why is it like this? I have no idea. All we can do is wait.

It is submitted that I am PR in Canada and sent documents of my spouse for family sponsor on 15th May 2015 and received e mail from CIC that my file is under process since 15th June 2015. currently, processing time for approval of " Person who is sponsoring " is 55 Days, which matured on 10th July 2015. But , till date I have not received any response from CIC. I am worried why CIC has not contacted me since processing time has already lapsed. please guide me as to whether my application has been approved or not ????
