Mapleson, thanks again!
I cannot find the 'Permanent Resident Processing Fee. All I found on the list is: 'Right of Permanent Residence Fee 1 $490.00'. Is that the same fee?
Which one from the list below is the correct one?
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp
That's the one. I just remembered that the acronym was a lot of Rs and Ps and $1040 is the correct total.

You can pay the RPRF later, but it can slow down your application.

Hi Mapleson,,,Really it can slow down the application??why??how?? I am asking cause my hubby didn't pay at first,,when The Embassy requested me to redo the medical and the copies of all pages of my passport, they also requested to pay the RPRF fee,,,it's been 7 weeks after remed I have no news,I am waiting for ppr(visa-required),,and maybe it's (paying late)the reason that it is slowing...??

Suppose you don't pay upfront. CIC looks at your application, but can't continue because you haven't paid. Now they have to contact you, wait for you to pay it and then who knows how long they'll take after you've paid to look at the application again.

If you pay upfront, none of that is an issue.

I am applying for mine PR, no family members are gonna come to Canada with me (only my Canadian wife living with me outside of Canada now, she will come to Canada with me). In the Additional Family Information they ask for my family members (no matters if they will come to Canada with me or not), so I put names of my 3 sisters and my parents.
Because of that, in the Generic Application Form (IMM 0008), question 3 (How many family members, including you, are in this application) - should I put 1 (myself only) or 6 (me, my parents and sisters)?

In Imm 0008 it will be only 1 Person (You) as you are the only Person who is Applying for PR.
In Additional family Information you will include Your Spouse,Sibling,Parents as CIC Need to Knwow all of Family Members although they are not Included in Aplication.

Mapleson and Garry2008 - thanks a lot for your help! This forum is awesome!
I red somewhere that members of my family must to have a criminal check and health check, even if they are not gonna come to Canada with me. Otherwise, they will never be accepted to apply for a PR. Is that correct? It doesn't make much sense for me.

Family members are defined as spouses and dependent children.
Others (parents, siblings) are only listed on the additional family information form.

Family in this sense is the family that is emigrating, plus all children. Children don't need a criminal records check (I hope). Anyone not on the list can still apply for PR, but just you wouldn't be able to sponsor them in the future. Basically, if they are coming to Canada now or in the future, Canada wants to look into them.

In your case it is not applicable to you as your Spouse is Already in Canada and your Parents And Siblings will not be consider for any health check or Criminal Background Check when you will apply.
In future if you Apply for Parents and Grandparents category for Family Class then they need Medical and Criminal Background Check.

It states right in the guide to pay the RPRF upfront to avoid delays.

Hi there

I have a question after reading over most of the pages in this thread. My husband is an English Teacher here in China and we married some years ago. We work together in the same school... he applied for PR for me in June of 2014, his parents are very supportive and his mother in particular is very exciting to have us come back to her house to live... she even lended her support on our application and will let us to live at her house with her husband (he is also nice). We get along very good, my husband always says he think he married his mother... hahaha.. she is white not Chinese... Our problem is that after reading through the thread, when we check the UCI number we have been given it says

1. Application received on Sept 22nd, 2014

2. Medical Results received

but there is no 'processing' of an application as others have said. Should I be concerned, it has been almost 8 months from the date it was received in China. Recently our application was moved to Hong Kong, I don't know why that is but nothing happened on that other webpage, no processing or anything....

I am 27 and I would like to have a baby soon with my husband but he does not want a baby born in China, he thinks it will makes problems to go to Canada with immigration. Should we email the Hong Kong offices? It says on the webpage that processing times are 9 months regularly, should we wait till that time to email or should we email now? I don't want to bug them and make trouble for our decision... I am scared it will influence their decision and make us have problem. My husband is very eager to go home, I think he is tired of China life. Oh yeah! He was born in Canada and both his parents too... and this is both our first marriage so I love him too so much and feel guilty that he has too much stress because of staying with me. I really appreciate it!

Hmmm well thank you for reply to me. I await your advices. :D

Sorry my English is sucks... should have paid more attention in class.

Thank you all for the reply. It helped me much!

I have 2 more questions:
1. The 'Visa Office Specific Instructions - Warsaw' says:
Mail all you documents to:
CPC-Mississauga
P.O. Box 6100, Station A
Mississauga, Ontarion L5A 4H4

But the CIc website says:
Spouses, common-law or conjugal partner and dependent children:
CPC Mississauga
P.O. Box 3000, Station A
Mississauga, ON
L5A 4N6
Which address is correct to send mine and my wife's documents (from Poland, no kids)?
