If you brother lands as PR as SINGLE when he is in fact MARRIED, then not only is he committing misrepresentation on his own PR, but his wife can then NEVER be sponsored in the future.

If he has visa but hasn't landed yet, his visa/COPR are no longer valid, he needs to add his wife to application, make sure she goes through all medical exam/security checks, and they will both get new PR visas/COPRs issues at same time.
Thank you ...Lots of forum mates advised, NOt to land instead submit pertinent docs of his wife....he tried contacting CIC and MpNP....CIc has no reply yet...thank u....i told him already not to land canada unless with new CoPr...the only thing is that...CIc could hardly be reached..

What he needs to do is update his application: add forms for his new wife, modify the previously submitted forms, pay the fees (RPRF) and submit all of that paperwork to the visa office. That's what they should tell him to do in any case.

This is always the case with CIC: if your situation changes, they want your application changed to reflect your situation. At this stage of his process, though, it will take quite a bit of time to process those changes.

We submitted our application in April and on our application we put that the wedding reception was TBA sometime in July (our civil ceremony was in Canada in August 2013) Well we finally finalized everything with my family having to travel to Mexico etc and organizing a date so my question is...... Do you think it will be a good idea to send the embassy photos of our reception and our families together? Will the photos be added to our file or just be floating around the embassy. Would love a genuine answer and if possible of someone who was in a similar situation.

:D ;D

You need to provide more information.

How did you apply for PR? Inland? Outland?

If outland, which visa office?

Hi Leon,

Thanks for the great post..... (quick question, hopefully you may know the answer) im currently in canada on my second working holiday visa, i have been here since may 1st 2013 and have until april 2015, im engaged to my canadian fiancee and we are expecting a baby in september.

if i apply inland for my common law visa, would i have to leave canada when my working holiday visa runs out if i do not hear anything? also would first stage approval allow me to stay in canada and work if i apply for an open work visa too?

many thanks,

Simon

You actually don't need to be in status for the spouse/partner in-Canada class application. However, you should also apply for an open work permit (OWP) at the same time (include it with the inland PR application) because that gives you status while CIC decides what to do with your OWP application.

Note: you cannot work after your IEC work permit expires until the OWP is granted. An explicit condition of the IEC visa is that it cannot be extended. Thus, you are not covered by implied status to continue working (you can remain but you are just a visitor until they make a decision on the OWP).

I have a question about the sponsorship evaluation form. In part 3 it asks about personal income. Are they asking how much you earned in the previous year at your job? and if so is that before or after taxes? also in the next part; part 4 it asks how many members are included in undertakings. I am Canadian and want to sponsor only my wife. So do I fill inyourself and in current undertakings put 1?

Those requirements are meant for sponsored person and family members. FAMILY MEMBERS are referred to your dependent children(if you have) that is sponsoring as well as by your husband.
So besykobuset, so you are saying that my husband/sponsor does not need to submit a police certificate nor those 8 photos of himself? correct?

Another question...

In the Document Checklist for 'Sponsored person and family members', the following forms are requested to be filled out by the "sponsored person and each family member 18 years+":

-Schedule A - Background/Declaration (IMM 5669)
-Additional Family Information (IMM 5406)

Of course, being the sponsored person I have to fill these forms out. Since my husband/sponsor is technically a part of my family, does he have to fill these two forms out as well? Anyone with experience?

Thanks.

Hello Guys,

I need help in filling the forms for Family Sponsorship. I am living in Canada as PR and going to India and my marriage is on July 7th, 2014. After that I will be applying PR for my spouse. Currently I am in the process of filling the forms to get it ready and I will be applying as soon as my marriage is done. I have a question here while filling "Sponsored Spouse Questionnaire" form. My spouse is my own cousin and we know each other from our birth and family relatives and that's where I am struck now. What I need to answer for the following questions and what date I have to mention:

1. Did you have any contact with your sponsor before you met in person? If yes provide, (When did you first contact your sponsor? (Here I need to provide a date), How did you first contact your sponsor?(By phone, letter, e-mail etc.,)
2. When and where did you first meet your sponsor in person, followed by Date and Place
3. Did anyone introduce you to your sponsor? If yes, Name of the person, date, relationship to sponsor and spouse

Your guys help will be highly appreciated since it will help me to save time in India when I go for my marriage. Seniors please help...
