Please send your application as soon as you get your marriage certificate. Due to a backlog with the FBI recently, police checks are now taking around 12-13 weeks to process. Once you receive sponsor approval, you will get a case # which you can then use to send in your new FBI police check.

Sponsorship decision is usually sent by e-mail, but the final decision is mailed to the applicant by snail mail! Worst.

Major update! My partner's ecas changed to IN PROCESS this morning!! It says they started processing the application on November 21st! AHHH!! Hopefully we hear something soon!! WOO HOO!!!!!

My partner who I am sponsoring is also American. We had docs requested August 26th, and sent them immediately. They were received by the CIC on Sept 3rd. They gave us 60 days, and we still haven't heard anything - it's been well over 60 days. I wouldn't expect anything any time soon.

Hey, all! So, on August 26th my partner and I had a doc requested, plus PPR. We haven't heard anything back since we sent the docs, so I decided to e-mail CIC today, asking if they can confirm they did receive the docs we sent in. Shockingly enough, they got back to me in less than 45 minutes...

No problem - the declarant would be you (the sponsor), and the declarant's partner would be your partner (the applicant).
