Acknowledgment of Receipt from the Visa Office. Basically, the VO says "Hey, we got your file!"
Ah, got it. Do you get some official e-mail? I checked my status on-line on the CIC webpage and see an "Application Received" under the PR Application Status. I take it that this is not the same.amikety said:Acknowledgment of Receipt from the Visa Office. Basically, the VO says "Hey, we got your file!"
Yes, we got an email. It's highly possible your email went into the Spam or Junk folder. It's also possible your email address got entered wrong and it went to la-la land. I've had replies from my friends go into my spam folder before....keesio said:Ah, got it. Do you get some official e-mail? Thanks for the explanation. Maybe mine is coming soon. Our timelines are very close (Stage 1 AOR - Jan 30th, Sponsorship Approval - Feb 11th) so if you got yours yesterday, maybe i'll get mine soon. btw - where does that second AOR e-mail go to? The Sponsor or the person being sponsored?amikety said:Yes, we got an email. It's highly possible your email went into the Spam or Junk folder. I never got an official AOR from Ottawa. I emailed them on the 1st and asked if they got my corrected forms. They finally replied to me. We consider that AOR from the Outland VO because it's confirmation they do have our file, but not true AOR. Only two VOs gave true Stage 1 AOR from what I remember.keesio said:Thanks for the explanation. Maybe mine is coming soon. True, good point. Lot of variables I'm sure! Thanks for all your answers. Good luck with everything!amikety said:You also can't compare your file to someone else's. Another user (evanbigfan) submitted his file 3 weeks before mine and went to "In Process" back in March. By that, I should've been in Process by April 1st. Nope, I'm not anything yet (although I could be who knows. It's not like Ecas is accurate!).
I think it would be okay, but you are going to have to get a passport because that is where the COPR goes in.msbigshot said:Quick question, if I have an enhanced drivers license and use that as my travel document does that suffice as a response into the question about asking for the number of your travel document? Wanted to double check, thanks in advanced.
Ah great!! Good to know!! Feels so good to have it sent off!! AGHH!!amikety said:Almost everyone got AOR from Mississauga for January 2013. The only person that didn't is fandv and his case was.... er.... special. (CIC misplaced his file...not trying to scare you or anything.) We were getting Sponsor Approval shortly after, sometimes in a matter of days. I haven't kept up with the trends since January, but AOR seemed a fairly routine process.
The letters didn't need to be notarized, so the fact the notary stamp is in Greek shouldn't really matter. Canada is not a signatory to the Apostille treaty in any case, so an Apostille won't have specific meaning. If you are REALLY concerned, have the notary stamp translated and certified in Canada.MORENA75 said:Hello all.
I need some urgent help Re: Notarized Letters
I have several letters from friends /family (for common-law), the stamps I got from the notaries of public here are IN GREEK. Do I need to get an Apostille or the equivalent? :-X
If I do, I need to go to the court tomorrow and get this ASAP, (I fly back to Canada monday morn ??? ??? ??? )
Can someone PLEASE reply ASAP it would be greatly appreciated!!! ;D
No. They just need to be reasonably certain you are not going to require social assistance. In doing that they will consider your own income, as well as assistance from your family/friends and the skills of your partner.anapbc said:1) Is there a min. income for sponsoring a husband? I am working Part-time only that is why I am afraid I might not be able to sponsor him.
It would be best if you had something from her indicating that you can live with her until your husband finds employment, yes. It's not required but advisable.anapbc said:2) I am currently living with my Aunt and if my husband is approved to come here we will stay in my Aunt's place first until he gets a job. Do I still need to ask my Aunt to provide a letter that we are staying at there house?
I believe they say to put the bar codes on top, but either way you do it, that's really all they are going to use (they scan those as the means of data entry)anapbc said:3) Is the Bar Codes on top of each Checklist of the sponsor/applicant or after each Checklist?
The address is here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/canada/mississauga.asp (Robert Spec Parkway).anapbc said:4) If I am going to send my Application through courier, what address will I send it?
