Ah, got it. Do you get some official e-mail? I checked my status on-line on the CIC webpage and see an "Application Received" under the PR Application Status. I take it that this is not the same.

I never got the AOR either from CPC-Mississauga or from Sao Paulo VO. I only know my application is with them because of the E-cas and an email I sent my VO asking.

Yes, we got an email. It's highly possible your email went into the Spam or Junk folder. It's also possible your email address got entered wrong and it went to la-la land. I've had replies from my friends go into my spam folder before.... :(

Thanks for the explanation. Maybe mine is coming soon. Our timelines are very close (Stage 1 AOR - Jan 30th, Sponsorship Approval - Feb 11th) so if you got yours yesterday, maybe i'll get mine soon. btw - where does that second AOR e-mail go to? The Sponsor or the person being sponsored?

Thanks!

I never got an official AOR from Ottawa. I emailed them on the 1st and asked if they got my corrected forms. They finally replied to me. We consider that AOR from the Outland VO because it's confirmation they do have our file, but not true AOR. Only two VOs gave true Stage 1 AOR from what I remember.

You also can't compare your file to someone else's. Another user (evanbigfan) submitted his file 3 weeks before mine and went to "In Process" back in March. By that, I should've been in Process by April 1st. Nope, I'm not anything yet (although I could be who knows. It's not like Ecas is accurate!).

I have a fairly complex theory to how CIC picks which files to process, in what order, and how to update Ecas. It involves several dartboards, a rug used for sweeping things under, and the good old "move the top file to the bottom of the stack" move. :p :p :p

True, good point. Lot of variables I'm sure! Thanks for all your answers. Good luck with everything!

Quick question, if I have an enhanced drivers license and use that as my travel document does that suffice as a response into the question about asking for the number of your travel document? Wanted to double check, thanks in advanced.

I think it would be okay, but you are going to have to get a passport because that is where the COPR goes in.

Almost everyone got AOR from Mississauga for January 2013. The only person that didn't is fandv and his case was.... er.... special. (CIC misplaced his file...not trying to scare you or anything.) We were getting Sponsor Approval shortly after, sometimes in a matter of days. I haven't kept up with the trends since January, but AOR seemed a fairly routine process.
Ah great!! Good to know!! :) Feels so good to have it sent off!! AGHH!!

Dear All,

This is a request for all the Indian who read/write on this forum.

I am looking for an Indian couple (Canada PR holder) who did interfaith marriage (very specific Hindu-Christian faith) and got their spouse visa approval from New Delhi Visa office (outland)

I would appreciate if you can share what all information you had provided during your spouse application. Any specific details in particular were provided or were asked by Visa office later in the processing stage (may be in interview or email/letter sent by CIC asking for more information) which would help other (even me) in curtailing the processing time for the spouse visa.

I am asking this because I have learnt that interfaith marriage in India (very specific Hindu-Christian) are refused spouse visa by the New Delhi Visa Office very easily.

Your valuable inputs will help me as I did interfaith marriage (where I am Christian and my husband is Hindu). We did Court marriage then traditional marriage as per both religions (without converting). I am applying for spouse sponsorship very soon.

The letters didn't need to be notarized, so the fact the notary stamp is in Greek shouldn't really matter. Canada is not a signatory to the Apostille treaty in any case, so an Apostille won't have specific meaning. If you are REALLY concerned, have the notary stamp translated and certified in Canada.

Hi All

Please help me on my application, I have few questions. I am in Canada and I'm Sponsoring my husband who is in Philippines.

1) Is there a min. income for sponsoring a husband? I am working Part-time only that is why I am afraid I might not be able to sponsor him.

2) I am currently living with my Aunt and if my husband is approved to come here we will stay in my Aunt's place first until he gets a job. Do I still need to ask my Aunt to provide a letter that we are staying at there house?

3) Is the Bar Codes on top of each Checklist of the sponsor/applicant or after each Checklist?

4) If I am going to send my Application through courier, what address will I send it?

Thank you so much, this will be a big help for me.

No. They just need to be reasonably certain you are not going to require social assistance. In doing that they will consider your own income, as well as assistance from your family/friends and the skills of your partner.

It would be best if you had something from her indicating that you can live with her until your husband finds employment, yes. It's not required but advisable.

I believe they say to put the bar codes on top, but either way you do it, that's really all they are going to use (they scan those as the means of data entry)

The address is here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/canada/mississauga.asp (Robert Spec Parkway).
