Coz as what some of the forumers said that the visa expiration date is the same with the medical expiration date :( Anybody pls. help.

You must land, but you don't have to STAY. You can land then go back and wrap up anything needed :)

Call AND e-mail. They usually give you a month after the letter is sent to send the stuff, you're already past that so yes, call AND e-mail, both you and your husband do that!

I moved to Toronto in August. I left my husband and 2 year old son so I could move to Canada and sponsor them. We are Indian but live in the Gulf. I have been a Permanent resident of Canada much before I got married.

I applied for their sponsorship in October. I got an approval letter from them on the 20th of Dec. My husband sent his and our sons passport on the 23rd of March. Thinking that the passport would arrive by the 20th of June (thus completing 6 months) I came to the Gulf to at least collect my son. It is not the 17th of August and there is still no sign of their passports.....Is it normal to hold on to passports for 5 months? Is that even legally allowed? what if there is an emergency and my husband and son need to travel?

I now need to return to Canada in order to get back to work.....I lived away from my little bot for 11 months......and now I might have to go back without him because the damn CHC in New Delhi is taking their own sweet time to process the Visas....

Can anyone here help....Who do I contact?..I have emailed and called every single number available online....but have had no reply.....Even my immigration lawyer in Canada confirmed that they cannot keep the passports in CHC for 5 months....

Any feedback is welcome and appreciated.

Yes - whether they have a record or not doesn't matter. The 16-18 is their processing time regardless. Some people do receive theirs sooner. But don't expect it in just 2-3 weeks. It's going to take longer unfortunately.

Right now I think it's taking about 6-8 weeks... We sent my husbands in July 26th, no charge on the credit card as of yet...

A few questions...

When you applied to sponsor your son and husband - did you meet residency requirements (i.e. had you lived in Canada for two out of every five years to maintain PR status)?

Where are you now? Are you back in Canada or still away? If you're outside of Canada - how long have you been there now? As a PR, you must be living in Canada in order to qualify to sponsor and you must continue living in Canada until the processing of the application is 100% approved and your husband and son have their PR visas. Short trips (2-3 weeks) out of the country are fine. Anything longer and you risk having the file rejected because you're not living in Canada. If you've been away for more than a month, you need to return asap.

I live in Canada now but returned only to pick up my son. I was able to sponsor them BECAUSE I proved that I live there. I have been back in the gulf since the 4th of July. I am still here waiting for my husband n son's passports to return.
