Hi all together,
I need a bit help. I got married in Canada this year. My husband is Canadian and I am German. I'm now back in Germany and we want to apply from outside Canada. I'm really confused about the medical test. Do I have to do the test before we send our application or do we send our application forms and than we get a request from CIC to do the medical examination?

Thank you

The process of approving the sponsor only takes into account that he is not bankrupt, does not have a criminal record etc. It does not look into detail on such things like if he was married already.

Hi there,

i really hope, someone can help me...my husband and i applied for spousal visa, my husband is divorced...sponsorship was granted but when the file arrived to the visa office we received a refusal letter almost 2 years of waiting stating that my husband was not divorced while we got married in SA? we have the right to appeal, but my question is how could CIC in Canada grant my husband right to sponsor and the visa office refuse based on my husband's situation? my husband was separated since 2006 they finalized the divorce early 2010 but the divorce certificate was not given until we were married?purely because his ex wife and her lawyer neglected it? what can we possibly do? any help will be much appreciated

You have found your applications forms at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp ?

You have read your instructions, including the ones for West Europe at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3901e.pdf ?

You have seen on the check list number 12, that you must send proof of the medical examination along with your application?

Yes I did. The thing is, I called the designated medical practitioner for Germany to make an appointment and she told me I need the appendix c stamped from the cic in Canada and a case number which I don't have yet. Thats why I'm confused.

When and how long after the divorce did you get married? Also he could have applied for a copy of the certificate. Its a bit strange that the marriage was done without a copy of the divorce certificate. Where did you get married. In order for me to get remarried i had to have a copy of the divorce papers but no matter as long as it was after the divorce my advise to you is send them a copy of the divorce certificate and a copy of the marriage certificate.

Then call him again and tell him that this is a spousal sponsorship application and your instructions say to send the medicals along with your application package and you can't do that if he requires you to have a file number first.

My latest ecas Update as a sponsored spouse is "MEDICAL RESULT HAVE BEEN RECEIVED"

is this an implication that our file was received by the VISA OFFICE already?

A divorce isn't finalized until all of the legal paperwork is issued. This means that you married before your husband was officially divorced and this is why your marriage can't be recognized by Canada. You should have waited until the divorce was official before marrying.

Unfortunately your only real option is to get married again (to make your marriage legal) and then submit a new sponsorship application.

Good luck.

Hello Everyone,

i am a new member and have a quick question:

Married December 30 2011.
Submitted application to CIC Mississauga March 22 - i do have a delivery confirmation # from Fedex.

currently the cic website says they're processing April 11 2012 applications. i'm trying to check the status of my application with the Receipt # IMM5401 that i was provided when i paid both application and landing fees online, but application status cannot be found when i try to check status: "We were not able to identify you using the information you provided. There could be three possible reasons:". is this a cause for concern? what should i do?

Thank you for your help!

I called them and they had advised that Application step 1 has been approved was now for step 2 it was sent to the Ottawa Case Processing Pilot branch back in June! (the lady on the phone said they sent it here to speed it up?!?).

I will contact this branch and check status.
