My spouse outside of canada got biometrics request. Does that mean good news?

Anyways, after she gave her metrics soon she got email saying ' envelope for decision on results of your visa has been processed and received at canadian visa application center'.

Just wondering what happens after this?

Could you clarify for what she applied?

Dear All,

Since February, the applicant and the sponsor have been staying in India for medical purposes. We want to submit our application in the next few days. We are planning to stay in India till October or November. My first question is, which address should we use in our outland spousal sponsorship application, our current address in India, or our address in Africa, considering that we might stay in India till the end of the year?

On the other hand, how can we prove our intent to move to Canada once the application is approved? We have the following:
1. My Wife's bank account statement in a Canadian bank, with enough funds for our first six months.
2. My Wife filed her tax return for 2022 and 2021 while staying abroad, and she has her notice of assessment.

Are the above two enough to prove our intent to move to Canada?

Finally, since my wife cannot get a signed and stamped statement from the bank, is it enough if she downloads last month's bank statement from the online banking portal as PDF? The online banking portal gives us the bank statement for last month only. Is that fine, or should we submit a three-month bank statement?

Hello guys AOR is sept 22 2022, I moved here to Canada from United States in 2022 drove in through Windsor and submitted spousal sponsorship application last year 2022. My application was transferred from Mississauga processing center to etobicoke in February and ever since then it’s been stuck at background verification medical and biometric is complete. I contacted ircc yesterday and the agent told me she can see that my application is transferred to Windsor processing center please does anyone has an idea of what might be going on with that. I’m a bit confused as to why they transferred from Etobicoke to Windsor processing center. Thanks

I didn't want to start a new thread just for this question but... What does the AIP letter look like exactly? Any recent examples?

We just received a mailed letter confirming the PA's eligibility (we also received the SA email recently). Does not say anywhere in there they are approved in principle but from various replies in these forums, it seems this is what the AIP is - is this correct?
Thanks!
LESS THAN 6 MONTHS TILL YOU GOT THE APPROVAL?

All I can really tell at this point of time is that I am so disappointed and mad about all that. Words can’t simply describe how unfair and stressful all that is for everyone including us. We had a very tough 2022 & 2023 thus far that seeing such a measure makes us simply depressed.
like what is it going to change by then for in-lands? We are here we occupy a spot in immigration already weather that is a study or work permit. We are simply here! We pay our taxes we are contributing to the society as we would with the PR as well. Like this simply makes no sense. Like at all !! We are here today will be here tomorrow!
So I'm going to revise my answer having read the article again. I would say that you should definitely expect the longer processing times to apply to your application. The Quebec government has effectively put in an application cap for spousal sponsorship and it's safe to assume that applications will be put through that cap on a FIFO basis (i.e. first in, first out). So I think you need to buckle down for a long wait. If you're unhappy about this and want to try to do something about it, speak with your elected provincial representative about why Quebec has implemented such a policy. No other province in Canada has caps for spousal sponsorship.

I can completely understand why you are upset. I would be extremely upset in your place as well.

Quebec has totally screwed you over. This is what you get for the priviledge of living in that province. Quebec has always been more disfunctional than the rest of Canada when it comes to immigration. However placing caps on spousal sponsorship is really taking that over the top, IMO.

I'm not sure what else to say. Take this to your provincial representative, especially if they are with the party in power at the provincial level in Quebec. They are the ones making these decisions and putting these policies in place that are impacting you personally.

Im almost wondering if we can just move to Ontario at this point. Do we need to withdraw or it’s okay ? Is it going to impact our application in a negative way ? Are we going to have the 11 month processing time or still be in deep ..dish..

pffff too mad about this nonsense. We got so much from Quebec thus far we really consider other options although are tough to choose. We love it here. We met in here. We fall in love in this province. We created so much here! Is just heartbreaking!

You certainly wouldn't need to withdraw the application. You would simply submit an address change and indicate that you have moved to a new province (after you've made the actual move).

Moving is a big decision. And I honestly have no idea how quickly this would end up changing or impacting your processing time (i.e. how long it would take to get you out of the Quebec queue and put you into the normal / faster federal queue). I can't comment on that at all. I have no idea how this would work.

It is disappointing for us too to learn all this immigration cap bullshit. Because I always knew the caps are for economical streams and that family sponsorship was excluded from that cap. Deciding to put a cap on this will push the delays too far. I'm a citizen by birth and I paid taxes all my life (I also work in the Quebec government, just not in MIFI) and it is unfair because I spend a lot to meet my wife and family as much as possible. The pandemic made us separated for 28 months and we don't want to relive that again.

I will try to see with some members of parliament and mine is high in the political dominant party (CAQ) to fix this.
