Thank you so much guys for this important piece of information. So, according to you what is the better option? P.S. we are in no rush to get married :)
It's really up to you. If you decide to land first on your own and become a PR - and then get married later - you should know that in order to sponsor your spouse you must be living in Canada. It's also likely that your spouse will be refused a TRV to come visit you while you wait for the application to be processed. So it's quite possible you may be separated for many months (possibly over a year) before PR is approved.

What about if he applies for Visitors visa before i apply for his sponsorship? Will that increase his chances of getting Visitors visa?

I have another question related to this, say if he apply for visitors visa before i sponsor him, god forbidden if visitors visa get refused will that affect his PR sponsorship?

A TRV refusal does not have any impact on a sponsorship application. You must declare it, of course.

My husband was refused TRV twice....and we included details of the first one (before we applied for PR) in our application. I'm happy to say we have received positive DM :)

Good morning fellow forumers,
please can anyone help me out of worries.... we submitted our sponsorship application on 23rd November 2015 and got AOR on 20/01/2016 till date no update and it makes me so worry since then though am the principal applicant i had called many times nd also my spouse the sponsor as well . They can only say we should hold on or wait till they complete there background check nd elegibility of my wife... this making me so worry now
though my wife nd myself are divorcee nd all well documented but she had sponsored her ex back then 1995 nd before the application finalised she called cic thats she withdrew her sponsorship but it seem too late bcos she realised her ex was going to use her for status. please fellow forumers what do you think this might result to?
thank you

I'm submitting my forms soon but I have to include my spouses notice of assessment stating that he is CommonLaw. We still haven't done this years tax yet since it's only Feb so is it ok if we submit last years?

HI Guys,

I need help. I got ITA, and I will be submitting my application in 3-4 weeks. Assuming I will get the PR in 4-6 months (Before July?). Situation is I m going to get married in month of June(May be before September, yet to confirm).

Now what are my options to include my 'to be' spouse in my application, or take her to Canada? Dont want to mess up as a few I already seen in this blog :-\

Thanks for the advise in advance.

If you get married before you land in Canada and become a PR - then you MUST add your wife to your PR application (including all of the forms, paperwork, medicals, PCCs, etc.). You will then both receive your PR visa at the same time. If you have further questions about how to add your spouse to your existing application, you should post them to the Skilled Worker or Express Entry sections of the forum.

Thanks much for the response Scylla.

I wont be married before my PR is confirmed, but I wont be landing in Canada before I get married.

So can I still sponsor her after I become PR? or Should I be in Canada to sponsor her? or Also should I get married only after I land in Canada(not ideal but I can try)?

Hello,
I already applied for my permanent resident and open work permit on january 05, 2016, still didn't get any answer from CIC, how long i have to wait, i was thinking to call the office to ask the question.
when can i applied for MSI medical heath in nova scotia?
my another concern is that i was feeling sick, inflammation in my stomach, may be gastritis, i had this before so i know the symptoms.
i would like to see a doctor but this may be expensive, i don't have any insurance, my husband just found a job, so he still doesn't have family medical insurance, he has to wait 3 month.
somebody know how much cost to see a doctor and how much cost the test for examination?
this medical condition can affect my permanent resident application? i have been married for 10 years and we have one child.
thanks for your answer and help

You have two choices:

(1) Wait until after you land before you get married.
(2) Get married before you land. Don't land using the visa that was originally issued to you, return your visa and add your wife to your application. Wait for a new PR visa to be issued.

Doing anything else will create problems in your life that are impossible to fix. These are your only two options. Up to you which one you pick.

Spot on, Thanks.

I am also a provincial nominee(Ontario), do I have to do anything about it?

I don't understand your question. This rule applies to everyone. It doesn't matter which stream you're applying through. If you get married or become common law - you must let CIC know.
