Hi ,Everybody,
I received a letter from CIC mentioning that My application for permanent residency is approved. But I am called for interview.
I am really nervous about the interview and concerned what is this interview all about.
Also I have major issue that my husband is my sponsor and is away back home at the moment .the letter does say " your sponsor must be present at the landing interview and will need to provide photo identification """"
My interview is scheduled for 10 th december2015 and I am worried that if my husband is not in the interview how much trouble it might be ??????
This is the landing interview for an inland application, where you actually become a PR. It's not really an interview, it's more a formality to do the PR landing. They will just ensure your situation has not changed.
Your husband
MUST attend the interview. One of the requirements of an inland application is that the sponsor and applicant are living together in Canada during the
entire application process. If sponsor doesn't show up at the interview also, you will definitely not be able to land as PR, and you run the risk of the visa officer thinking you were not living together in Canada so could cancel the application on the spot.
So basically you have only 2 options I can see.
1. Contact the CIC office and ask if they will re-schedule the interview
2. If they refuse to reschedule, have your husband fly back immediately to attend it with you.
