How long it would take to get the visa stamp if you're being asked to send the passport to immigration office New-delhi - India what is the processing time under the grounds of spousal sponsorship, and how could i track the file, it's been a 2 months now i haven't heard anything back from them, I have already paid fees submitted my Medical and police clearance, is it a good idea to contact Immigration officer at new delhi and asked them what happen to the immigration file?

Are you approved as a sponsor by Mississagua?? Your file was sent to New Delhi already??

Make it more clear for us please, when did you applied?

New Delhi asks for the passport early in processing. Most offices ask for it once they have decided to issue the visa; not so with New Delhi. There could be a few months more for you to wait. I would not contact the visa office yet - it is too soon.

2-6months for 80% of the cases

you can track by sending an CSE email inquiry asking for confirmation of receipt of passport. You can order CAIP notes only costs $5. Also, you can join the ND thread and give us company at

I have applied In the month of October-2011 and i have received letter on January-2012 stating that your background check has been done and your file is approved at mississauga office, than my wife received a letter in india on February-2012, and within a week time they have send the passport to New Delhi for further visa processing, i hope this would help you give a proper answer.
Thank you in advance !!

@Canadian...
It's been a two months now, my wife medical end on the month of june-2012, if she did not received her passport with the visa stamps, do she need to go through medical examination again.

Usually if the medicals expire, the visa officer will ask the applicant to get a new medical done.

If the meds expire, and new ones are requested, how much of a delay does this cause?

Thanks,

FS

I received my PPR call exactly 3 weeks after re-doing my medical, two weeks after submitting new police records.

Cool, so basically no real delay. That's good to know. Hopefully, though, the visa will be issued before the expiration date, as it is over CAD$200 for the medical. We would also like to avoid getting a new police certificate...thankfully my wife has never lived in another city, so the security/background check should be quick and easy, and she is still quite young, so not much for them to check...but that does lead me to a question:

Will CIC contact her past employers or schools where she attended? We did not include any letters of reference, nor did we provide translations for her diplomas. We figured this was unnecessary because we are applying through the family class...Any ideas?

Thanks,

FS

They might, but they usually only need verification that she did attend what schools she said she attended or worked where she said she worked, they don't usually need a reference per se. They will ignore any evidence/documents not submitted in English or French or without translations. As she is a FC applicant, it doesn't matter so much for her eligibility, just her background.

What would they do to verify the information? Is that part of the background check? I suppose they will contact those schools / employers, correct?

Thanks,

FS

Yes, it's part of the background, and they probably just contact the school or employer to verify years when she was in attendance/employed there.

my husband was on working holiday visa for 2 years in uk. although his visa saidhe could only work for 1 year. he worked for 4 extra months at the same place to cover his expenses. will this cause dlay or rejection?

our file is pretty strong. we had a love marriage and have sent in fb records and emails while we dated.he sent his passport on request to new delhi 3 days ago.

But how do they contact her past schools or employers if she didn't enter contact numbers? There is no place on the form where it ask for this info...just name of school and name of employer.

Thanks,
