Spousal Sponsorship - Tunisia

Hello Everyone......

My husband and I have been married almost a year, and we just sent out our application for sponsorship two weeks ago.....(such a long information gathering process)...

Today I got an email saying they have received my application...what does this letter mean? just they received it or they received it and its complete and the processing begins?

What is everyone else's experience with sponsoring spouses from Tunisia?

It just means they have officially received your application. The next step is you'll receive sponsorship approval. This is taking around 40+ days right now since the date they received your application in the mail, not the day they sent you acknowledgement. I'm at 44+ days and haven't received SA yet.

I'm not from Tunisia, but the first step of the process (Sponsorship Approval) is the same for most.

You know how you hear horror stories about people who get application sent back etc......is this letter mean that it was complete the package?.......or is there still a chance they sent it back...

omg we spent SO MUCH going over details and reviewing it to prevent this lol.....

Are you sponsoring a spouse from Tunisia as well?

And is Tunisia under 8 months or 17 months? the website comfuses me.....

You're correct. Don't worry about your application being returned anymore ;D at this point it's safe to assume that your package is complete. If they need anything else they'll request additional documents, not return the application. And yes, 40+ days from May 3rd.

I was so paranoid myself until I got official correspondence saying they have received my application.

I'm not familiar with how fast Tunisian applicants are going through or what visa office they are processed in, but with a solid application you should be well under the time it says on the CIC website. Remember, the processing times on the website means that 80% of those applications are processed in that amount of time or less. Hopefully, someone who has experience with the VO Tunisian applicants go through can chime in and give you a more accurate timeframe.

No problem ;D. My husband is sponsoring me from the US (American applicants are mostly processed through Ottawa, not Los Angeles). I'm already in Canada on visitor status luckily, but I look forward to being able to work again and continue on with my life.

that's what i told my Tunisian wife too! Inshalla Allah. are you married to a Tunisian too? I am a Chinese Canadian male though..

once they sent you an acknowledgement.. it's usually considered the applications itself is completed, aka not missing signatures or other forms. Tunisians are supposed to be processed in Paris.. average 8 month, according to CIC processing time.. but like i said that's an average. 40 days to approve a sponsor, I am waiting almost 60 days. no idea if I am myself is approved or not.. and I am not the only one .

I got my SA June 13. now it's forwarded to Paris.. i am sponsoring my wife from Tunisia. keep in touch everyone!

Thx. check my timeline.. that's CPC-M..
i am not sure when Paris received mine yet.. i think it should be around June 13--today?
cuz the only email i received was from CPC-M saying i am eligible as a sponsor

Have you tried to call cic? I received an email from Paris VO asking travel history of both of us...which I submitted initially already..but since they asked, I resubmitted again.
