today my visa application have been refused its like a joke from CIC bcz they wasted my 26 months if there was any problem why they accepted it and why they wasted my and my familiy 26 months

I am very Sorry to hear about it Raansb. :'( :'( I know it is truly heart breaking for you. What are the reasons for rejection you can appeal as well

Reached out to my MP to check that status of the application. Here is the email. Interesting to see that the medical has been extended to March 2018 even though we got it done in June 2016

We have received the following update from IRCC regarding your sponsorship application, which I have cut & pasted below:

• The application was received at the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga (CPC-M), Ontario, on September 1, 2016.
• The initial assessment to ensure your constituent meets the eligibility criteria and that the application is complete was finalized on October 20, 2016.
• The responsible office is currently reviewing the application and documents submitted to determine if your constituent’s spouse meet the eligibility requirements.
o the assessment for the spouse is still in process at the Canadian visa office in London, United Kingdom.
• The medical examination results are on file and valid until March 16, 2018 for your constituent’s spouse.
• The criminality verifications have been in process since November 4, 2016.
• The security verifications have been in process since October 6, 2016.
• As per our current processing times, it may take up to 17 months to finalize the application. However, processing times indicated on our website are approximate, and can vary with each individual case.

Our office will continue to monitor this file. Please let us know of any developments on your end.

Im surprised to see that security and criminality has been started since Oct. When i received my notes at the beginning of Feb, nothing was started in my file and my timeline is similar to yours. I guess your MP's info is more accurate. Have you ordered your notes recently?

I wouldnt take the 17 month timeline seriously. Thats a generic time ( till december 2017) they give to evrybody.

I wouldnt take the 17 month timeline seriously. Thats a generic time ( till december 2017) they give to evrybody.

yes not really worried about the 17months but the lack of responses in the last month for July/Aug applicants is starting to worry me. No idea why the process has slowed down so much. I will be ordering my notes in the next couple of weeks, didnt think it made sense to apply for them when they havent even started August applications

I feel like crying loud today! this week has been terribly slow and today hasnot been any better either. :'(

Just came here to rant!

Unfortunately canada is like that. 1 out of 100 people gets a chance to restart their career in canada. Rest of people do some intensive labor jobs drive cabs or trucks once they get their license.

Next step is that LVO will contact you when they open your file again. They have contacted a few july applicants. Wait for one month more and then order notes.

Same here, going to order in mid april.
You are right, with jun, july, aug app still pending, the waiting period looks longer for us.

Your MP info stated a different date for application received and sponsorship approval than the ones we have on the spreadsheet. Can u please confirm.


Only the luckiest people got their cases processed in 6 months or less in 2016, MA! God knows how much longer will it take for them to complete June ( they have been processing june since December-16)!!!. And with only 6 july applicants on the spresdsheet ( out of which 2 have got approval in dec), we dont even have enough information on LVO's performance.

NDVO was slower than us, and now they have started giving DMs to August applicants and look at us, still stuck with June and the never ending backlog.

No offence to june/jul applicants, im just stating the facts and my frustration.
