They doing review, Eligibility means relationship and identity. While also doing Background check of primary applicant.

They are reviewing is, start to finish. This is a good news for June Applicants.

No I sent an email last month and they finally replied with a generic crap a usual. I don't have access to MYCIC so can't check further . Wanted these guyz to atleast tell me something . Completely useless

We received application for permanent residence on June 9, 2016.
We started processing application on August 10, 2016.
Medical results have been received.

But from MP office I got information that they doing security and eligibility checks.

when they say your application "awaits initial review", that means they have not yet begun reviewing it.

Mycic is a personal account on cic website. Go to the following address:


Continue to GCKey. After you create your account, link your PR application to the account. (If you do not have a representative (lawyer), you will be able to link your application to your account)


1. Log in with GC Key account.
2. Permanent Residence > Family Class (Spouses)
2. Application Number and Family Name - Copy/pasted application number from email (including the F) and entered PA's last name.
3. City of Birth - I entered 1 space (hit spacebar once)
4. Country of Birth - Selected PA's country of birth
5. Passport Info - Did not enter any passport info
6. Other Application Info - Filled out the other application info as per our application and put '2' as the number of members in the application (Assuming 1 PA, 1 Sponsor, 0 dependents)

In case of any query, feel free to ask.

thanks bro, till now, I have created an acount and tried to LINK that acount with application, but it says they don't have such application in their system, n I should visit after 24 hour,,,, what next???

London Visa Office has a generic email that they send everyone, but they have generic email for every stage your file is in. For Instance:

1) Your file is in queue for initial review
2) Your file is in queue for review
3) Your file is in background checks
4) Your file is in queue to be reviewed by a decision making officer

1) Your file is in queue for initial review (you will keep receiving this reply until they look at your file for the first time after sending AOR), In many cases, an in-process file is actually waiting in a queue for initial review. Applications are handled in the order they are received and on a case-by-case basis.
Once they do the initial review of the file, they look for missing documents. Does the file need extra supporting documents?? They Do Eligibility checks, if they need anything, they send a letter asking for missing/supporting documents they also send supplementary forms and a few other ones. They send a letter and put a Bring Forward date on the file. Until that date comes:

2) Your file is in queue for review (On the bring forward date the file is opened and gets checked for what was requested and if things requested are there it goes to the next stage could be the background checks, verification of documents etc. If the documents requested are not there, they put another BF date on the file.)

3) Your file is in background check (You will keep receiving this generic message until the background checks are done)
Hopefully everything is done by now except the background check and they notice the medical is expired, they will then send another letter requesting those.

After they have everything they needed, the file status is:
4) Your file is in queue to be reviewed by a decision making officer. This is where they decide if the person needs to go through an interview or if the Visa Office is convinced by waiving the interview and sending passport request after making the decision.

do you have a lawyer? if yes, then you wont be able to link your application.

Dear all,

a month ago, I received an email from CIC requesting for our communication proofs again since they thought that the last ones were hand-typed(which were actually copy-pasted). I screen shot all the new ones and the old ones and sent it back to them 3 weeks ago. Does anyone know how long it will take to hear back from them. I am scared that now it will take extra long to get my husbands visa since they found something wrong with our application.

Please help me out here. Is this thing common?
