Salam, you know if your background check is not completed at the time of new medical is done it will only be done once you have a new medical. After that it can take from 2 weeks to 2 months for background check to be done.

I just came back from Pakistan after visiting my wife and contemplating sending documents of my visit to the CIC. Who do I send these additional documents to? CIC Mississauga or the London office? Please let me know.

That address should be in your Sponsorship Approval letter.

That address should be in your Sponsorship Approval letter.

The letter doesn't list any address, just states that the application has been forwarded to the London Office.

Just send your documents to LVO make sure to include a cover letter explaining your visit and what this package contains as proofs. Also make sure to mention your application number on cover letter and also on envelope.

Guys Quick Question (And I know it has been asked before as well.. So sorry for repeating it anyways.. =P

My Ecas status changed to Decision Made probably on the 26th of December.. Given that it came on the back of LVO receiving the extra documents that they had asked for that I sent in late November (Proofs of continued relationship) and a Re-Medical Request that came soon after they had received the docs (I did the Re-Medical on the 15th of December), I am mildly optimistic that this should have logically been a positive decision (InshaAllah!)

Now, I know that it would take a little while for LVO to get a move on in terms of the next steps, but ideally speaking what sort of timeline should I expect? Is my hope for a PPR request in January a bit over optimistic, or is it what should take place logically?

P.S, This Decision Made change has made me so on the edge that I keep checking my email/ecas every day at random times.. Even though being an October 2014 case, I was used to not really checking ECAS regularly.. =)

Thanks for the prompt reply.. Pardon my ignorance please, but what exactly does a Background Check entail? And also, wouldn't the background check have been passed (or God forbid failed) if the status has already changed to Decision Made soon after the Re-Medical was done?

If your ecas shows DM, it means your file is fully passed. Medical, Security, Criminality and Eligibiliy are all passed. Just give them about a week more to see if the PPR comes. If not, send them a quick e-mail and ask what is time-line you should expect to get the passport request.

My DM came on the 20th of Dec, I sent them an e-mail today saying "Whatt up". Hope there's a reply soon!

An ideal time to get PPR after DM is about 2-3 weeks.

Hi I got my PPR the very next day when it said DM on ECAS. DM was on 21 Dec and PPR came on 22 Dec. I submitted my passport for visa stamping on 23rd in khi and got my visa yesterday which was stamped on 31st Dec. Considering this I assume LVO is working on a fast track these days. Good luck
