LVP validity is 2 years. Passport should come in 21 days.. but these days its taking time. as I have applied for renewal and its more than a month now, and there is no news so for from the CHC(ISB).

You can attach information regarding you sponsorship application to the CHC(ISB), also tell them, the travel agents need to see the passport before to issue any tickets. I believe that's what happened with us when we allied in 2014. Travel agents didn't issue the ticket to my son.. (though I came to know from Karachi there are travel agents they can issue the "Conditional" ticket, one can not travel with that ticket until to prove with passport before leaving for boarding.

What additional documents did they ask you to submit? It seems like it took them roughly 2 months to make the decision after you submitted the documents. They asked me to submit additional documents on March 01 and I submitted them on March 10. Hopefully they will have decision made in my case by 10th of May. Hope they do.

Well, I asked the same question on the forum, got this answer..

Yes, you are advised to have a notarized letter of consent from the other parent allowing you to bring the child to Canada.

That's a really scary part: They just said they're not satisfied with what the sponsor has given to them.. "they couldn't ask" yet they wanted a separate letter "Intent to reside", I gave them, so did my wife(the applicant) show some new pictures(special emotional ones, of my son). They then send PPR. Probably they wanted to see how we can plan our travel/living once arrive in Canada, as I have no one who can receive us... s,o had to show some realtors info, some hotels info.. and that's all..

About guarantor in Limited Validity Passport for a child, the guarantor needs to be government officer? or any medical doctor or dentist practising privately can become a guarantor? Please advise. Input from any member with completing the LVP process successfully is appreciated. Many thanks

Not necessary, can be anyone, who should know, about the child, you, and you family. Even you can be a guarantor .

I once guarantor of a child, but as our tradition, didn't know the child's mother's name; so the lady called from the passport office while I was living in Canada, and after some questions, suddenly she asked the mother's name, which I didn't know, nor did my friend told me. and the passport wasn't issued, and we had to rush at the office, and explained everything. there and than they issued the passport.

I'm worried because the office was closed on 23rd March (Resolution Day) and now its almost the weekend and then office will be closed on Monday 28th March for Easter holiday. We have waited so long already, I don't want to wait until Tuesday for my passport.

any news regarding passport? i will be travelling alone with my daughter.. she will be trqavelling abroad for the vesry first time and has both canadian and paki pp . can u pls tell me will we need any consent letter as she is traveling with one parent that is me. i am prinicipal applicant.

Hey everyone Im slightly confused and looking for anyone to explain me what it means. My husband is sponsoring me for PR.
So when i logged into ECAS this morning i saw two colums. One said sponsorship application that said "in process" and had 3 lines/pointers when i opened it. The column next to it had the heading of permenant residence status that also said "in process" and had 2 lines/points in it when i clicked it.
The column next to my husbands name said "decision made"
Does it mean they are working on my application? If so by when can i expect the status to update again which im guessing will be a DM?
