How the spousal sponsorship works i.e. Steps

London Visa Office Processing time is 12 Months

Dear all just for the clarity I'm posting the process of Family sponsorship for understanding of all of thread members.

Phase 1: Sponsor's Approval

1. Sponsorship application submission (AT CPC-Mississauga)

2. First Email (AOR): application of sponsorship received by CPC-Mississauga (within a week time of sponsor approval)

3. 2nd email: Sponsorship approval and File is sent to London Visa office for further processing (2 to 3 months)

Phase 2: Visa Office Stage (Principle Applicant or Spouse)

Steps: Eligibility Assessment (Relation is Genuine or not) > Re-Med if required > Background checks > PPR > Visa Issued

5. Eligibility Assessment: Additional documents or Interview request from LVO to assess eligibility.(between 5-8 months is my best guess).
Interview will most likely held in Islamabad but interviewer will be a person from LVO not from Islamabad (Interview is only to assess whether relationship is genuine or not).

6. Background checks will be done after relationship is confirmed by Visa officer.

Pakistani law does not permit sending passport out of country

7. Passport Request. PPR. Original passport needs to be sent to VAC. (usually within 30 days after DM) Send PPs and email printout through closest VAC location.

8. Visa is being pasted on Passport. VISA along with COPR is sent to respective VAC.

Just an FYI...
LVO processing time

I took the last 10 entries for processing time at LVO in the spreadsheet
1. 251
2. 259
3. 270
4. 286
5. 316
6. 316
7. 317
8. 319 <-- 80% of cases, LVO is completing in 320 days
9. 330
10. 347

320 / 30 = 11 months

This is the same processing time prior to LVO handling the case file transfers from Islamabad Visa Office that has skewed their current stats.

So just add 11 months to the date that your file was transferred to LVO and this will give you a fair estimation of when you will have a DM in your case.
Add an extra month for when to expect PP back with visa.

Of course, there will be individual cases that vary. But these stats represent 80% of the cases completed from the last 10 data entries on the spreadsheet.

Well as many of you may know that election time is approaching. I sincerely hope the tyrant Mr. Harper is out of power.
Since they have been in power, there has been too many failures for a man that campaigned on accountability and transparency which is really ironic.
Their environmental policy has been a failure.
Their foreign policy has been a failure.
Their immigration policy has been much worst since the Liberals lost power.
Citizenship: Increase residency requirements from 3 out of 4 years to 4 out of 6 years.
No longer count time spent in Canada as a non-permanent residents (such as student or worker) towards the residency requirements for a citizenship application.
The Mike Duffy scandal.
No respect for taxpayers money - over 1 Billion CAD dollars spent on G8 summit, some of which were funneled into their political ridings (i.e. Tony Clement)
Political interference with Supreme Court of Canada.
There is much more but I am concerned the canadavisa.com server may crash with data overload Wink

Anything but the Conservatives...
You can identify which political party has the best chance of defeating the conservatives in your riding by looking at the past election results from this link:

Select which province you are from in the first dropdown and you will see the listing of ridings in your province.
I located my riding in Oshawa, Ontario and noticed that for the past 4 elections, the Conservative won the riding but NDP had placed in second in those elections.
Hence, voting for NDP would be more effective than voting for Liberal in my riding.

And those that can vote I encourage you to exercise your right to vote (even if you want to vote Conservative).

That spreadsheet was really discouraging to look at. I didn't see a single case that was processed in less than 11 months.

With my bad luck, my case will probably end up taking 1+ years like everyone else on that spreadsheet...

Hello,

For the processing time, is this London office any different from the usual London office?
I am confused since the spreadsheet says an average of 11 months. But 0n CIC website, the processing time for Spousal Sponsorship is 28 months.
