I applied for spousal sponsorship in Quebec and got the csq now I’m moving to Alberta. Will this help shorten the timeline in getting my spouse here?(once I update the province of intent) Also does it carry on with consideration of the months that have already elapsed or does it restart the application timeline? Any info would be a great help!

Yes, it should (or might) shorten it due to the issues with Quebec spousal sponsorships right now. You should update the province of intent after you move (with supporting info like updated ID).
It doesn't 'carry on with consideration', it just continues as before save that they will jump any parts that require province of Quebec agreement/approval. So no, it does not start over.
I warn that they seem to be slow at 'updating' files and moving them to different procedures where necessary. So after you update the file, you might either call IRCC - after 4 to 6 weeks or so - or inquire through your MP.
Be upfront that you'd like to check the status because you moved provinces from quebec to alberta and want to make sure it's not getting held up unnecessarily.
There seems to be many moving out of Quebec to try and have spousal sponsorship shortened and get access to healthcare for their spouse. I would make sure to prove that you are relocating permanently to Alberta not just temporarily for example including proof of employment in Alberta for example. May seem like overkill but IRCC and the province of Quebec knows that people are trying to move spousal sponsorship out of Quebec to secure faster processing. Moving to Alberta versus Ottawa, for example, is less of a warning sign. Some people are trying to move while also continuing to work remotely for their Quebec employer and many do intend to return to the Quebec after sponsorship. This is relatively new so we haven’t seen how picky Quebec and IRCC will get if they suspect people plan on returning to Quebec soon after sponsorship is granted.

Her pr process is going through we have applied and submitted bio metrics and medicals ( passed ) , we received pre arrival letter and also an email mentioning that I am eligible to sponsor. Currently background checks are being done from what i see in the portal as updates.
Just curious if me as the sponsor is allowed to move to another province

Until it's approved, you still need to update IRCC and if you move to Quebec, you need to apply for that province and likely with a much longer time line.

Hey , So basically i refused to move because the process and wait time sounds really hectic. The minimum wait time is 41 months i don't want to be negative but its what i saw when i looked it up.
people are saying to move only after the pr is received which seems safer because no one exactly knows how long it's gonna be. the uncertainty is ridiculous
I ended not moving and now in the passport request stage,

I'm thinking of risking it and taking the only offer in hand, go to Quebec and then begin the sponsorship application then. Luckily, if I get to move to a different province for a different job, hopefully the processing time reduces :|

On a side note, did your spouse apply for a TRV while waiting the sponsorship application is in progress?

yea the wait time is scary
don't lose your hope because each case might depend from one person to another so you might be lucky to get it soon.
Uptill the passport submission 3 1/2 - 4 months
the photos we submitted got rejected and we have sent in again .. not sure how long this wait is going to be

In your case because we know the pr wait is 41 months minimum, I think you can apply for TRV so you can get your partner in so they are inland and apply for work permit which processes faster than pr. I didn't take this route because that would make my wife quit her current job and move. if your partner is not employed and is ready to relocate the TRV to workpermit to PR is a route that can be considered.
if not just go for the PR

Ya it’s an option to bring your partner asap and getting work permit is just another way to extend stay
Visiting my partner? The visa is valid for min 6 month and when the workpermit process starts you can think of it taking less than two months
