Hi,
I am looking for some information /help. Here is our situation: I am a USA born citizen and my husband is a Canadian born citizen. I came here on January 26 2019 we got married March 17th 2019 . I do not plan on leaving Canada we will apply for sponsorship In Canada Class I am also applying for an extension to extend my stay and will be applying for OWP. I am preparing forms now. We originally met in 1993 and maintained contact for 2 months then lost contact until May of 2017. He visited me in Oct 2018 and I visited him in June of 2018. So my questions are as follows. 1. We have some pictures from our trips and tons of texts will that be enough information/proof.
2. We got married in a small ceremony with only 2 people from his work in attendance. My sister and best friend were Skyped in. Too far for family on both sides to travel. Will this hurt us?
Also since we just got married we have limited proof of cohabiting. We have a lease with my name on it and joint bank account. He doesn't have any insurance or benefits at his job. I am also beneficiary on his RSP. Will this be enough? Basically I am wondering if anyone has similar background and can share their experiences.
We are older he is 43 and I am 51. Help would be appreciated.

Do you have copies of the plane tickets anywhere? Have you considered adding yourself onto the hydro bill, etc.? Bills in your name to his address could help (cell phone bills). Adding those in could help your case.

I would say that it would look a little odd for there to be a wedding with literally no family in attendance. At the very least you'll need to explain why it is that none of your families wanted to/couldn't come. Or why you two didn't want to have a ceremony close enough for family to come.

For family class sponsoship and common law, you also need one year of cohabitation, not sure whether same applies for married couples, but worth checking if this is the class you're applying for.

We live in Victoria rest of family is in Pennsylvania and Ontario. We are going to Ontario this summer to celebrate with his family and friends and to PA. After I get my PR since I can not travel outside of Canada. We also preferred a very private ceremony. Did not want to have a large expensive wedding.
That isn’t a ton of visits between both of you for a Canadian/US relationship.
No it isn't. We were 3000 miles apart. We visited each other once each from May of 2017 and June of 2018. Very hard for us to get the time off from work. Would have been different if he lived in Ontario only a drive away. We

We are married. There is no time frame we must be married before filing.

That's fine! You'll just need to explain why to the officer/on your application.
