I got a very strange reply from new delhi visa office via case specific enquiry. i am posting to see if someone got similar reply and what was the outcome of this reply. I am going paste reply below.

Actually we have very straight forward case. Interview was done on 1feb 2016 and file was approved by the interview officer. We got remedial request on second day of the interview and completed on 5feb 2016.

However mp inquiry and gcms notes clearly states that eligibility,criminality and medical is passed and file is forwarded to RFV(ready for visa unit), but still couldnt get any passport request. i would really appreciate your replies. thanks.

CASE SPECIFIC REPLY
This is in reference to your client’s application for permanent residence in Canada.

The processing of this application is currently on hold. The case has been referred for further investigation in Canada. Investigations of this nature currently often take 18-36 months, and can take longer in some situations. We will continue to follow-up at regular intervals with the in-Canada office conducting the investigation. During this investigation, we will be unable to provide any further information. Once the investigation is completed, we will contact the applicant regarding further steps. The applicant should provide updates to contact information if required

As far as I know, they do cross check now a days. So if you can please provide the details of your interview it would be easier for other members to guide you.

Did they call you and cross check with you during or after the interview? Did they call anyone from both yours + wife's family and friends??

Did the Visa Officer took the police clearance?

Did you log in with your wife's UCI # and check the application status on cic website?

Please share your whole interview experience to serve you better.

I have a question for those who went through interview or are going for it soon.
Are you going to be using/Have you used an Interpreter? Are you fluent/professional level in English? Do you have high education degree like Dr., Engineer, etc.? Was it done in English medium?

I am asking these many questions as members of my family are in little bit of conflict right now about using interpreter. My wife is from Gujarat, India. She has studied in English medium and has also completed B.D.S. in English medium. Some members are saying that when she has education like this it might be a bad impression on VO if she uses interpreter (as being Doctor (Dentist) and such). On the other side, some members (including my wife) do not want to take any chances, so want to use interpreter in the interview.

Please answer the questions and help me out. If you want, you can PM me the answers and your advice.

Don't overthink it. Go with the language your wife is comfortable with.

Personally speaking, I'd go with English if she is comfortable with it. Just my personal opinion, but I believe tone might get lost a bit when you use translator/interpreter. But if your wife is saying that she wants to go with interpreter, then let it be that way.

If your wife is not confident, get her an interpreter. No worries....Do mock video interview as many times as possible. Read this thread, it will surely help preparing interview.

Did your wife get her interview date? You ask about your interview interpreter. I think in your interview you can use interpreter in your interview. Recently I did my interview and I talk with my native language. Education does not matter. I did my English Honors and complete my Master Degree in English.

My interview is very tough and it was around 2 hour’s interview. I really comfortable with my native language. In the interview day I talk with my immigration officer in my native language. If interpreter give the officer wrong information then your wife can defeat it. In my interview my interpreter gives her wrong information that time I defeat and told my immigration officer I did not say this. Now a day I am waiting for my passport.

I would like to get some information from you.
1. Who did the application?
2. Did you use a lawyer or representative to do the Application?
3. When you applied for GCMS notes, you suppose to get a auto replay message by ATIP-AIRP right way. Did you get that?
4. Did you confirm yours/lawyer/representative email address. Also did they change their email address?
5. When did you do your interview?
6. When you did GCMS notes, did yo make sure to add the Consent form signed in the application?

Your wife should use what she is comfortable with. If she thinks she can explain and express herself better in English then no need interpreter. If she cant then she should definitely go for interpreter. In my opinion she should take the interpreter because she is not using English daily. As Farhana said we are not talking about education here. It's about proficiency. My proficiency level of English and native language both are Intermediate because i am living in Canada for 20 years and I am using English daily. For me it doesn't matter in what language i do my interview. But for the people who doesn't practice English daily will have hard time in an interview. Because interview is not a normal conversation that you have with your buddies. You have to be more precious and accurate in an interview. There is no place for mistake there. Also there are times she will pause herself to gather the information and translate in her head before she answer if she is not fluent in English. If she does take then the interviewer might think she doesn't know the answer and that's why she is taking time. If you are not using English on a daily basis then i can guarantee you she will have difficulty expressing herself in the interview. I hope this is gonna help to make your decision.

All my dear friend it is a very good question for upcoming interview applicant. Sometime we think we did our higher education in English and it is wise to face our interview in English. But if you are not comfortable to talk English in front of unknown person, you should face your interview in your native language. In spousal immigration we do not find anywhere that applicant bound to do their interview in English.

In my experience I say that native language is best for interview. In the immigration spousal interview your body language is very important and your expression is also important. If any applicant speaks English and could not express her or his feeling, it is not good for interview. In my interview I speak my native language and I am very comfortable with my own language. I understand and I can speak English but I prefer my own native language because I feel I can express my feeling very well in my own language.

If you complete your higher education and your subject is English and you still think what you should do. Education does not matter in your interview. In your interview it is really matter in which language you are comfortable if you comfortable with your own language then do your interview your own language. The most important thing the interview is your and you know which way you can express your feeling.

When you face your interview in your own language you should be careful about your interpreter. The interpreter translates your own language into English. Sometime the interpreter translates the wrong information. If the interpreter translate wrong information or say anything that you not mention in your interview that moment you should defeat the interpreter .Otherwise the immigration officer think that you say like that. For example you say your interpreter-------

My husband lived before Uk and now he lives in Canada

Your interpreter translate that -------------------

Your husband lived before Canada and now he lives in UK

If you see that kind of mistake that moment you tell your immigration officer I did not say like this and say to your immigration officer that my husband lived before UK and now he lives in Canada,
