Farhana,
The interview was a little over 1/2 hour. He answered all truthfully, there wasn't any question he wasn't sure of, all he knew; obviously he knows everything about me. The reason for all these questions were probably because i haven't lived in my home country (Sri Lanka) since I was young, they wanted to know how well he knows me.

As for the answer he gave for the genuine relationship; I posted it on the Sri Lankan Thread:http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/processing-time-for-spousal-visa-sri-lanka-t60979.4020.html

His answer is not applicable for anyone else because he has a well to do business in Sri Lanka and he said: "he is doing well in his income in Sri Lanka and do not need to leave all that behind to go to a foreign country, unless he truthfully married for love and want to be with me where I have spend most of my life, and it wasn't fair for him to ask me to move to SL for him"
Hello SL_chica,

I don’t think the immigration officer call him for second interview. The interview was ½ hours and it is a long interview like me. If the immigration officer has some doubt they will not call your husband, they will call you for cross match. But it is just my guess and 90% possibility they will not call you. Hopefully your husband will get a good news very soon.

Regards
Farhana

Hello profiler,

Thank you for your help. My finger condition is not good yesterday and feel too much pain. Without health card, no clinic access you without payment. The doctor cost is very high and to me I cannot agree to pay this high cost. Last Wednesday I went to Lakeridge Health hospital and they sent me emergency. I waited in the emergency and the hospital told me they will charge 500 Canadian dollar and I also contact walking clinic they told me they will cost 140 Canadian dollar. Yesterday I went to Scarborough community health Centre and the health Centre social worker told me they only see Scarborough people and the social worker gave me the address---

The Canadian Centre for Refugee And Immigration health Care 4158 Sheppared Ave East Scarborough M1S1T3(West of Midland Ave)
Tel:6472672176
Opening hours—Tuesday and Thursday 5pm to 8pm

Yesterday I went there and the doctor see me and I am very happy at least they see a new landed immigrant. The doctor is very good and polite.

I also contact “Muslim Welfare Centre” and the Centre also help the new immigrant. No doctor fee and you can see a doctor with appointment. They also give me appointment. But now I feel good and also cancel my appointment. The address is---------------

Hi,

There is no fixed policy after how many days the visa office will inform you. Sometimes decision delayed due to delay in receiving background check clearance or other factors. If you think they were apparently satisfied with the interview, you will more likely receive positive decision very soon. Keep checking your email including junk email folder. Also eCAS may give you status change prior to receiving passport request(PPR).

Good luck!

Hasan

Thank you Hassan, do you think I should find the contact info of the Mp? do you think that would help to find out whats taking that long??

Hi experts,

I haven't got any email or MyCIC message at all and also I don't check Ecas often.
I went to check yesterday and in my Ecas (Sponsor) both side says decision made!
My wife's Ecas (PA) also says "Decision Made"!

Can I say the application is approved? What can I expect next? Is interview call still possible?
I didn't get any PPR email though.

I don't consider 1/2 interview is a long or hard interview for a South Asian Country; Some have interviews that runs over 2 hours. .
And we asked for an interpreter just to be on the safe side. (I recommend that to anyone whose English isn't the first language).
Without interpretation the interview would have been 15 minutes (half of the time).
Questions that were asked were pretty much what was on his application with a few odd questions to establish reasoning.

We don't know what was meant by a second interview. However, few hours after the interview we got an email to re do the MED and PCC as they were expired in July.

Each other must know everything about each other. There is no stone un-turned. In a normal situation there can be gray areas where one thinks it isn't my business to know about his/her past. But when it comes to immigration, no exceptions; must know everything.

The VO asks these questions to establish a pattern. For example, they might want to know if a person has had relationships with other foreigners, if so, why? Was it to gain entrance to that country?
I'm not saying that husband or wife hide things about their previous relationships...but if you were in a relationship that didn't not work I mean it didn't go further to marriage!! Still we have to confesss to immigration?? What's the point?

Point is you are being truthful for all questions that are put in front of you by immigration. As I mentioned before there shouldn't be any gray area for them to have any doubts.

Hi, we'Re not sure yet if my wife is going to have an interview (eligibility: review required), but I wanted to know if local visa offices provide interpreters for the interview? If so, do I need to notify them ahead of time? If not, can she bring like a family member who can translate for her at the interview?

Not about confessing. More about the discussions you and your significant may or normally should have as you date and get to know each other.

I understand where you are coming from. I rarely spoke about my previous relationships with my wife because she really does not care about my relationship history. However, for the purpose of the interview, we talked about our last relationships just in case we are asked the questions. we wanted to demonstrate that we know about our past relationships instead of not knowing.

Does this kind of long interview/ many questions happens to inland applicants as well?
My lawyer told me that when we do our exit, we'd only be asked a few questions and its just for formality. Is that true?
We've been together almost three years and had a kid, but not married yet, just common law partner for now.

Agreed! This is what i said earlier, when it comes to immigration do not leave any stone unturned because they will. Better to get to know your partner above and beyond the "normal" relationship procedures.

Hi,

How was the interview? Sometimes the interviewers last words and body language indicate possible outcome of the interview!

You don't need to go to MP at this stage. Wait couple of days.

Good luck!
