im a canadian citizen that got married in bangladesh last year and applied for my wife to come to Canada. On august 26. We got a letter stating that her file has been placed in the interview queue. Just wanted to know how long of a wait we should expect for an interview. Both first time marriage.

My wife is in the interview queue wanted to know it makes a difference if i mail new pictures or chat longs or can it be done online under Case Specific Enquiry? it allows to add attachments.

Please advise

You can always send additional documents to your VO if you want to. However, I don't think it will make any difference because if they want an interview then they will interview you. And I don't suggest that you mention anything about the interview as this may raise suspicion.

Only you know if you sent QUALITY of proof, over quantity of proof.

There has been many people able to have their interviews waived after sending more proofs to the VO. Just a couple weeks ago one member had their interview cancelled after sending more proofs of their recent visit to Singapore. This member had also emailed them asking about the interview and if it could be scheduled while she was visiting her husband.

Hi,

That's great, i guess made right decision. i emailed our VO for additional relationship proof after i got AOR2. although they didn't request. i emailed them my husband itinerary for a month and half visit this Dec. and msg, remittance slip. i mentioned, my husband will meet my parents this time, spend holidays together and celebrate our wedding anniversary.

although MVO don't usually set interview, just don't want too confident about it, since we have lots of red flag.

cheer!

I sent Singapore additional proofs twice before we recieved an interview request and since then I have come to Indonesia for 4 months and sent my visa, boarding passes, and return itinerary. I haven't recieved any response.

Hello everyone,
My husband had his interview yesterday and to help everyone I am posting the interview questions to help anyone facing interviews:
As soon as the interview finished he sent me all the questions so I can post them for you.

  • What countries have you traveled and where?
  • where did you go last and why?
  • since when do you know your sponsor?
  • where did you first meet?
  • Did anyone introduce you?
  • How do you know each other and your families know each other?
  • For how long does your sponsor live in Canada
  • How did the sponsor go there? immigrated or born there?
  • is this the first marriage?
  • did your sponsor have other relationships prior to you?
  • How old were you when you first met the sponsor
  • What type of work does the sponsor do? (
  • Where does your sponsor live?
  • How old are you?
  • How old is your sponsor?
  • What is your sponsor's name?
  • What did your parent's say about your sponsor? What was their re-action for marrying a foreigner?
  • Why didn't your parents do an arranged marriage as per tradition?
  • Have you had other relationships besides your sponsor?
  • How do you say your relationship is genuine?
  • What type of work do you do?
  • Did your sponsor have to travel for the wedding to your country?
  • did anyone accompany your sponsor for that?
  • explain your first ever meeting with your sponsor
  • where does your sponsor's family live?
  • what do they do?
  • who does your sponsor live with?
  • does the sponsor own or rent?

Hi,

Thank you for sharing.

+1(Good) for you!

What did the interviewer say at the end?

Good luck!

Hasan

Farhana,
The interview was a little over 1/2 hour. He answered all truthfully, there wasn't any question he wasn't sure of, all he knew; obviously he knows everything about me. The reason for all these questions were probably because i haven't lived in my home country (Sri Lanka) since I was young, they wanted to know how well he knows me.

As for the answer he gave for the genuine relationship; I posted it on the Sri Lankan Thread:http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/processing-time-for-spousal-visa-sri-lanka-t60979.4020.html

His answer is not applicable for anyone else because he has a well to do business in Sri Lanka and he said: "he is doing well in his income in Sri Lanka and do not need to leave all that behind to go to a foreign country, unless he truthfully married for love and want to be with me where I have spend most of my life, and it wasn't fair for him to ask me to move to SL for him"
