thanks for the quick response but tell me,how long does it normally take to receive query letter and whats the best time to order for the notes since my application has just been 3months.do you think the first visa officer in Canada will make a comment if interview will be needed and also on my status,it says application IN PROCESS and when i click on the inprocesss line,it shows medical received which was in the section of DECISION MADE.


i was wondering why it jumped from interview may be required to medical received. does it mean the lead office may have recommended a pass on my application?

Hello jay,

When you click your “In process” you see your medical received and you think which was in the section “ DECISION Made”. If your application reached “Decision Made” your ECAS will change “ In process” to “ Decision Made”.


When Canada visa office sends my file to the Singapore visa office my sponsor ECAS show


My husband Application name is “Sponsorship Application” when he click he saw Sponsorship ECAS “ Decision Made”-------------

1.We received your application to sponsor Applicant name on June 12, 2014.

2.We started processing your application on August 6, 2014.

When I submit my application and my file go to Singapore my ECAS show “In process”.If I click “In Process” there I see-------------

2. We sent you correspondence acknowledge receipt of your application September 8, 2014

3. We started processing application on September 8, 2014

4. Medical results have been received.


When I did my re medical my ECAS show----------

If I click “DECISION MADE” there I see-------------

1. We received your application for permanent residence on August 11, 2014

2. We sent you correspondence acknowledge receipt of your application September 8, 2014

3. We started processing application on September 8, 2014

4. Medical results have been received.

5. We sent you a letter on April 19, 2016. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

This is completely incorrect. There is currently a bill in the senate awaiting approval that may shorten the period for residency from 4 to 6 years to 3 of 5, along with other amendments. You can read about it yourself here http://www.lop.parl.gc.ca/About/Parliament/LegislativeSummaries/bills_ls.asp?Language=E&ls=C6&Mode=1&Parl=42&Ses=1&source=library_prb

He may be referring to spouses who become PR who are accompanying Canadian citizens who live abroad (outside Canada). http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=727&top=4 As long as they are living with the Canadian citizen outside Canada, they can count that time as time towards their residency requirement (of course they have to land first). NOTE that this only will allow them to fulfill the requirement to maintain their residency and that this will not meet the requirements for citizenship - where one must physically reside in Canada for a determine period of time.

Also note that if you remain outside Canada for more than 6 months per year in general you lose all privileges of residency that are legislated provincially (driver's license, healthcare, etc) and in some cases less - it varies by province.

Carefully read my writing hope now this time you will understand. Your sponsor is approved to sponsor you but your application is still “In process”. The interview depends on visa office. Sometime visa office contact applicant if they need additional test or documents.

In my case visa office required my birth certificate second time in the interview query letter. So you need to wait for whole process.

Straight forward case,

If any applicant does not any red flag and his/her case is straight forward and if his/her medical is not expire( Medical expire in 1 year) the visa office direct request landing fee if applicant is not paid and later visa office check the background of the applicant than visa office send applicant passport request email.

RED FLAG case,

If any applicant has “Red Flag” in this case visa office put the applicant in the interview query. The waiting time of the interview is 12 0r 16 months. If applicant does successful interview the visa office required applicant re medical, form, landing fee and police clearance. When visa office gets re- medical later visa office check applicant background check. It takes some time if applicant lives other country 6 month more. After background check visa office request passport through applicant email.

If visa office rejects you, your “ECAS” do not show “IN PROCESS”. Your application process is start now and you have to wait long time( 10 or 16 months)

In my first stage ECAS and your ECAS are same.

When I applied my ECAS show “IN PROCESS” and when I click in my “IN PROCESS” I see like you-----------

1. We received your application for permanent residence on August 11, 2014

2. We sent you correspondence acknowledge receipt of your application September 8, 2014

3. We started processing application on September 8, 2014

4. Medical results have been received.

So you have to wait for the whole process of the visa office. I write the process of Canadian spousal immigrant visa in my previous writing to you.

The visa office put me in the interview because I and my sponsor both divorce and quick got second marriage. We divorce and quick get second marriage for this reason the visa office doubt our marriage. I applied for my visa June 2014 and my file transfer Singapore in August 2014 and the visa office send interview letter September 2014 and they return my all documents. My interview waiting time is 24 months. After 17 month later I got my interview date. I did my interview March 2016 and they send me re-medical April 2016 and after got my re-medical the visa office send passport request email May 3, 2016. I got my passport with visa June 2016.

No our letter just states that cases that require an interview fall outside regular process times... htquach got a different letter that states up to 24 months.

I think your wife get interview date letter soon and the visa office call for her interview any time. htquach get interview waiting time like me but your wife did not get any time. Htquach need time to get interview date. I think your wife should mentally prepare for her interview. Love(ao) did not get his interview waiting time like you and few month ago I told love(ao) in PM may be very soon he get his interview date because visa office did not mention his interview waiting time.
