no worries I think it was an inland process until one month ago when they transfered it to bogota visa office....
I can see that the average is around 11.5 months

we are at 11 months currently (aor june 9th 2017)

That's interesting. Have you applied from Canada or abroad? We applied almost at the same time.

from canada mississauga and since 1 month they transfered it to bogota office...

How can that happen? Are you still in Canada? I applied on June 7th 2017, passed medicals a month ago and waiting for new updates. Hopefully AIP and DM will come in next couple weeks.

Im outside the country but my wife shes waiting in colombia since 6 months... (shes from venezuela)
we passed everything, medical visit, annex a but the background check is still in process...

I hope its over soon for us and you

Based on the info.from phone service,for the sponsor, process of the sponsor "has not started yet", and "we are processing your(sponsor) background check"
Is there anyone who has the same issue like me?
And who knows what is going on right now?

I am an Inland applicant my wife is my sponsor

Here is our time line, From start to almost finished approx 15 months


Applied by Canada post 3-1-2017. (we sent everything possible in out package)

Package Received by CIC Mississauga 3-3-17.

AOR... 3-18-17.

CIC started process for sponsor...3-18-17.

Started Process for Applicant 2-17-2018... That is strange that this wasn’t done in 17!!

IMM-5669 Schedule A Requested from CIC 3-28-17
Completed and sent to CIC on 4/2/2017.

FBI fingerprint and records check requested on 3-28-17

completed 4-5-17 , mailed to FBI,, took 2 months to get this back From the FBI.

RCMP, Finger print and criminal, completed and mailed to CIC Mississauga 4-11-17.

OWP Received 4-28-17,

Physical completed 4-28-17.

CIC DOC request on 2-13-18.... completed and sent back by web form 3-18-18.

CIC DOC Request on 4-10-18....completed and sent back per web form.


DM.. Decision made... 5-8-18.

OHIP applied for 5-10-18.. will get my card after 3 month waiting period.



We are waiting to hear when my Interview is at the Etobicoke Office

When I called to enquire was adviced against requesting notes. The rep told me that it delays your application and takes away from the agents time. Oh the nerve of those ppl, you are at their mercy. Thursday will be 18mths since I applied. I think nov ppl are just screwed because we're at the cut off from the old system to the new. I see many Dec2016 and onwards getting DMs and PR.

A.) Notes requests are serviced by another office (ATIP). It does not take from an officer's time.

B.) Nov isn't screwed. Some cases from that time have delayed security screenings or overseas admissibility checks (they assess every immediate family member listed (and not) on the IMM 0008). Sometimes, these can be delayed, for reasons like refugees or asylum seekers.

C.) Don't worry. They'll get the cases done very soon.

Question, I am in Canada and have called the Toll free number at 888-242-2100 many many time's from my Cell phone and I have always got thru and spoke with a CIC agent from my cell phone. My number is a United States cell number. and has always worked on the toll free number... NOW for the past 2 weeks when I call that same number 888-242-2100,, I instantly get a recording saying ""WERE SORRY THE TOLL FREE NUMBER YOU HAVE DIALED IS NOT AVAILABLE FROM YOUR CALLING AREA"" .. so its detecting my American cell number as me calling from outside Canada and I am not I am in Ontario..

ANY ONE ELSE HAVING THIS ISSUE???????? is there some other Number to call CIC with ???
