Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Hello All,
We get through myCIC a message entitled "Eligibility Passed",
the letter says "It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class.", I believe this must be AIP?
Also, Ecas shows "Decision Made" on both sides
So now we get just to wait for landing letter, Am i right?

Timeline:
Application: October 21st 2016
AOR: November 17th 2016
OWP: february 2017
Request to redo the medical: December 18th
Medical passed : December 27th
AIP-SA : January 30th 2018
DM (both side) on Ecas : January 31th 2018

Congrats on AIP and DM. Yes, a landing invitation is coming.

I got AIP on Jan 24th and SA on January 26th.
Decision made on Ecas on January 24th.
I saw couple people saying they got a interview call.
My question is, since I have a representative , he's etting all the mail, if I am "selected" to get a interview call, would they call him or would they call us?? Thanks

Congrats. He's not the one landing, right? They need to speak to who is landing.

I am sponsoring my husband.
Because he was out of status (still is but he's now allow to apply for a work permit after the AIP) , we decide to use an immigration lawyer.
If we get the landing interview call, Would they call our lawyer to let us now or they would contact us directly?

Can someone explain to me, during the first stage of a person’s PR application and OWP get approved, is this different than AIP? Or does AIP come after SA?

OWP is a separate process.

AIP will always come after SA. How do I know this? CIC IP-8 (https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/ircc/migration/ircc/english/resources/manuals/ip/ip08-eng.pdf); Pg 20-23.

Hi everyone, i just called in my PR application and found out that all my documents were recieved. Sounds like im just waiting on the medicals to be completed. The officer on the phone told me, if you dont hear from us, that is a good thing. It means everything is going ok.

Hi, I do have a dumb question, sorry in advance. What’s the role of an MP in the immigration process and why do people feel the need to contact them for services? Thank you! I’ve just been reading some forums and saw some replies “contact your MP blah blah.”

Security != Criminality. Security is much deeper and takes 3-6 months to complete...

we contact CIC via phone last week and they said criminality is done and they started security check. we applied first week of march 2017 and 11 months are already over.

does this mean it can still take us additional 3-6 months before we hear a final decision on our application ?

also, does it hurt if we call cic every two weeks for a follow up.

They didn't start Security when you called them. It's hard to say how long it will take. Things like your country of origin, and other countries you have visited can delay the screening.

They don't really care if you call them every day. But it will become demoralizing for you if you keep calling and don't here any different news. So, I would just relax. They will get it done.

An MP is your local area's liaison to the Government of Canada and all the associated offices. It's their job to represent your interests.

If you feel something isn't right, your MP can help you and CIC resolve that. Usually it's pretty simple, and they're happy to help.

And the only "dumb" question, is the question not asked!
