Oh they send an email when they approve the visa application and ask to send them the passport so they can print it inside.

hello,

Since my husband landing in this upcoming friday Feb 2/2018. However, we didm applied to renew his open work permit on January 29/2018 and paid $225 again so I am wondering if immigration would refund his application for open work permit since we won't be needing it anymore. This really sucks :(. On top of that we just paid the $490 to take ready with us when we go to see CIC this friday but now i am wondering what will happen with our $225. Also, the fact that my husband is old permit just expire on Jan 19/2018 could that be a problem in our landing interview?????

If they didn't process it yet, they will issue a refund. You need to call the call centre to ask how to request that after landing.

There is no issue otherwise.

Hi, I received this email :

I am pleased to advise you that the processing of your application for permanent residence will be finalized at an interview scheduled for:

In order to be granted permanent residence, you must bring the following with you to the interview:

ü A current letter of employment for yourself and/or sponsor indicating nature of employment, salary and length of time employed. If self-employed, a statement of income from your bookkeeper or accountant. If retired, proof of pension payments and copy of last Income Tax filed. >>

This is the problem. My husband is working, and at his work place, but it needs at least 2 weeks to get the letter of employment, while my interview is this week.
What can I do?
Can I show them my husband's employer letter contract before they hired him?

Please kindly advice.. thank you,

Congrats.

I doubt they will even look at it. There is no low income cut off for spousal sponsorships. But yes, a contract and a recent pay stub should work fine.

When you received decision made and on which date they sent you letter for the interview and on which date you interview scheduled?

Me personally? I am a Canadian citizen -- born here. My wife got her DM on April 27. Within an hour of the DM, she received a landing invitation to land at CIC-Kitchener on May 5th 2017. This is unique, because we were told by an MP's office that they wanted something from us very quickly, because they wanted to close the file.

If you are asking in general terms, CIC offices vary wildly, due to local 'demand'. The Kitchener office isn't nearly as busy as Etobicoke, for example.

I got a hold of a CIC agent on the phone yesterday. He said that it would take at least 10 weeks for Etobicoke office to get in touch with me. He said if I don't hear anything by April 3 to call back to see what is going on.

Hope to hear something before that.

This is a common timeframe for that office. If there are people with Medicals or Passports expiring, sometimes the officers will try to bump the landing up (so you will see the occasional landing sooner than that).

Montreal, and Vancouver are also busy offices.

Oh, does that mean we have to wait at least two weeks for landing :(
We live in North York which i guess our application is processed at Etobicoke office

All he said was they should contact me within 10 weeks with the landing email. I don't know how long from the landing letter it takes to get an appointment at Etobicoke office.

I was hoping this would all be over earlier this year.

Hi! I remember seeing a post where someone mentioned if I you have your AIP you can take it to get OHIP.
Is that correct? If I already have my OHIP (OWP expiring on Feb 5/18), do I need to wait 3 months?
