Quick question guys

Can the applicant be on disability while the pr application is in process?

Will it affect the process in any way?

Thanks

That's the only type of Social Assistance that is acceptable. Disability is exempt.

Thanks @profiler . I know that the sponsor can be on disability. Was not sure about the principal applicant.

Oh, sorry. I was confused, because the PA would be in Canada (inland context, right?) and would not be entitled to Disability benefits in Canada.

The PA's economic situation, aside from the inter-dependence factor is not evaluated.

Oh i see. Ya inland. Not be entitled because of having no status?

Well, I guess that will depend on what province. But looking at it from the position of a citizen: Should anyone other than a resident be entitled to a social benefit that they are not paying into?

I would need more context, but, the PA's financial position (and if they are claiming a social benefit) doesn't matter in the context of a sponsorship PR application.

CIC doesn't care. They only check that the sponsor isn't on social assistance (sans Disability).

I feel the same. 2016 July/August are still not receiving anything after AIP..... It has been slowed down a bit

zero progress here too, checking in every day twice a day and nothing ever changes. We are April 2016 and nothing has progressed for months.

Seems the only thing they changed since last year was made it more impossible to actually talk to a real person there.

I ordered Gnotes, and sent inquires about my security status to CSIS last week....
I am also having meeting with local MP this week, MP's assistance invited my wife to come to the MP's office.
It seems early 2017 outlands are landing recently.

Hi All,

My wife has just received a message in MyCIC as below. Is this an AIP?
Thanks.
