Yeah I thought so as well. Call center agents thought it was weird. Congrats to your wife for the car

Hey, thanks! Yeah, it's uncharacteristic. But what offices have been known to do, is group PR landings together... so it might be that they are working out the scheduling for that? Just a guess?

Hey guys...

We just got the landing interview letter.
Whatta relief. Haha

We started the application on August.

I am very affraid about this interview, any one can give some tips or what to expect from it?

It's nothing. Like getting a driver's license. Hand them your passport. They show you your COPR. Ask you to verify the details. Then ask you a few questions: Have you been convicted of a crime in Canada or anywhere; Any dependants in Canada or anywhere; have you been denied entry to Canada or anywhere. You sign. They sign. You get the chance to ask questions after they welcome you to Canada. You then take care of your SIN and health care. Totally easy.

Also, plan your landing party! ;)

Where is your landing interview. Congrats

Congrats! Just curious - why was your Schedule A requested multiple times? Any advice on how to avoid that?

Sure, very simple; TRIPLE CHECK whether you left any gaps. I had a gap in my address and I started at the wrong year (referring to 10 years back or since you were 18) which ever comes first.

Congratulations!

Congrats on mew vehicle addition, what vehicle finally you guys bought?

Her mom wanted her to get a Mini Cooper (truth be told -- I did too; but only a manual gearbox!). She wanted something simple and cheap to run. So, she went for a Focus. My parents have always had one around, for more than a decade. So she decided that was better for her.

She won't drive my Charger -- hood is too long. For someone still learning, that can make parking problematic.

Sounds like she's CANADIAN-IZED lol @FordFocus over a mini

Also, just to note.. in case there's a few who did not know this like me.

You can get your OHIP in with your aip letter which is only valid for a year and activates after 3 months but not every service Ontario accepts the AIP letter. I was told it has to be a full service offering service Ontario. So just double check by calling first before going.

You have to visit the full service Service Ontario locations to set up OHIP. Once you have the card, you can renew at any SO office. When you get your COPR, just bring that in and they will correct your expiry date (and issue another card).

She wanted a Mini. BUT, she decided only old ladies drive them. And, yeah, the Canadian-ization has had a dramatic effect. She is still changing, but from before to now, there is a difference, for sure.

On the Mini note: If I was getting one, it *has to* have a manual trans. If not, what's the fun in driving it? She also stated, that is she bought one, I cannot have one. "Only one Mini in this family". hrmpf.

Now I get to insure her car... fun times.

Hi all,
Something weird that just happened, I have been calling IRCC call center for the past few days trying severally and have not been able to get connected. Just now I decided to use the citizenship route and it actually said the same thing, 'we are experiencing a high volume of bla bla bla'
I was actually shocked cos I that route would surely get me connected. Guess I was wrong.
I did that the other day. 30 minutes wait for an agent. She couldn't help me. So she had to transfer me to spousal line. Was another 40 minute wait before i got to speak to an agent.
