Thank a bunch brother for that advice. We are getting in December in india. The plan is she will obtain visitor visa in india before our marriage date without disclosing marriage. Then using the dec marriage docs i will apply for her PR.

My confusion is, if i apply her PR in india, will the visitor visa obtained before marriage still be valid. If it is not valid, then i will let her fly here first and then apply.

Have you seen visas stamped in past on the grounds of visiting boyfriend? I mean is that a safe way?

Yes I have seen them permit visitor Visas based on friends (boyfriend/girlfriend relations)... It's how my wife was granted hers.

That said, her first entry she will be examined with more scrutiny. So, not coming into Canada before marriage can carry risk with it. She will have to declare the change in relation when she arrives in Canada.

That's why I asked about marrying here.. so if you want to avoid any risk, I would marry here first, apply for PR, and you can marry again in India after it's granted. This also means you don't have to translate your marriage certificate.

Très bien!
Thank you! Yes the count is going up but I'm far from VIP!

Sorry I was sans accent. But I figured some French is better than none!

Another live-saver phrase: Tu parle anglais? Or je parle anglais ... Much more and I might need Google translate! :)

Doesn't take long to get there. Soon, you'll have your name in "lights" on the "notable members" list too!

Hey guys!
I'm finally back from my 3 weeks across canada holiday and done my landing interview on the 27th.
We were the only couple there and it took only 10 mins.
The officer asked me if i ever charged or convicted of a crime in any country, refused admission to canada or required to leave canada, and if i have any dependants. thats it. She didnt even ask the husband.
Got a stamp in my passport and thats it. Permanent resident.

Thank you everyone for all the help since the start. Esp Profiler. You're our hero!!
And good luck to everyone who still waiting. Dont get tired waiting. You'll get there soon!!

Congrats!

Submit IMM 1344 and IMM 0008, include a note that your son was born to you, a citizen, in Canada. You have to update those two forms, and include birth certificate.

They answered in case the child was born outside of Canada... So just the two forms, a note explaining your situation, and a birth certificate.
But it only says they need the add on request if he was born in Canada

Then, do that? Your IMM 1344 and IMM 0008 must be amended to include one more in the family unit, and the details respectively. Also, the IMM 5406 must be amended to include the new relative of the PA.

Regardless if you do it, and submit the forms, or they do it in your behalf. The net effect is the same.

Ohhh okay, makes sense! Thank you! Does that mean it's going to cause a delay now?

Probably only minor. They'll see the change, and your note that you had a baby, and their move on. It's common. There also isn't a change to sponsorship Approval, as there is no financial change.

Just make sure to bring the birth certificate to the landing, just in case they didn't get it added to the file in time. They do ask if there is any dependents not declared... If you're unsure if your son was added in time, advise them that you'd tried to add him...born as Canadian won't be an issue..

Good day!

I just received confirmation that CIC received proof of my relationship and has attached it to my application EXACTLY one month to the day which I submitted it. Sweet relief :) Here's the message I got:

Any time now!

That's my concern.. applicant side only shows one line: "We received your application..." There used to be a line for when they started processing the app.

We applied in April 2016 and it seems like this is just dragging *sighs*

Us too, I suspect there are a whole lot of us that got skipped over and they are spending their time working on more recent months instead. It is a pretty horrible feeling checking status updates and coming on the forum here every day :(

Who? Me? No I paid for these, fair and square! ;)
Nobody could dare doubt that. . . hard research , harassment, and vexation
But you paid.
