Quick question we just got an email response after I informed them that our baby was born that if he will be part of the application to do a whole new form which we don't need because he was born in Canada, also they said that if he was born in Canada then we do an add on request??? Has anyone heard of this or what I am required to do?
We already received AIP and SA right now they are working on background check.

If either of you are Canadian, did you notify them that the child is born to a citizen? You need to supply the birth certificate of your baby. That would give them the information they need. Typically, it only affects the application if the child is not born in Canada. But just fill the forms out, and include the birth certificate. If the child was born to at least one Canadian, make sure you include that fact in your submissions.

Hi guys,

I would like to seek advice from all the senior folks here. I am a PR and getting married in december this year and think about the fastest way of bringing my wife here.

I was thinking i will ask my wife to apply for a visitor visa along with her family in octobor begining. She and her family has past travel history to few countries, so o am assuming she should be fine on that. My question is, if she gets a visitor visa say in Nov and we get married in dec and we apply for her PR in dec, will her visitor visa be still be valid. If she gets visitor visa, shall we apply from india or after she comes to canada?

Another plan is she alone will apply for visitor visa in october disclosing that she wants to visit her boyfriend. Then is she gets it in Nov, we will get married in dec and apply for PR in dec. We can come back together.

Or shall she apply for visitor visa now disclosing that we want to get married. Then we do civil marry here the next month and apply for her PR and she goes back. Then we marry in dec and hopefully she will get her PR by feb march next year.

If there is any other rejection proof way please share.

You do not need to disclose that your fiancee plans to marry. Apply for the visitor visa soon, as it can take 30 or more days (and will be valid for the duration of her passport, typically). This will also allow you the opportunity to find cheaper flights, usually. She will need an invitation letter from you, and you should provide proof of income with that letter. She should state she is coming to visit her boyfriend.

When she enters Canada, she may be given a date to leave by. If they give her a date, it will be written on the stamp they will stamp in her passport. If they do not write a date in, then she has 6 months in Canada (assuming your avatar image is where she is from, as well).

If you are intending on applying for a PR for her within Canada, then you should also consider applying for the Open Work Permit (OWP) that is afforded to people applying in Canada. It's an extra $255, but it will grant her status in Canada, while they process the PR application -- the PR application does not grant any form of status until approved. So she will have to maintain status by another means (OWP is the best way).

Where do you plan to marry? In Canada or somewhere else?

I saw people who have the similar apply date as me are landed or noticed to land. Is that normal and in the right track in my case?

No, they are working on people who applied in August-September 2016 now. My wife and I applied in March of 2016 and my wife landed in May.

It could be an indication of a possible problem. Have you tried to contact CIC to ask for a status update?

Sorry I forgot to mention that my status shows medical exam passed
No..I never contact cic for asking any question Statu update cause I thought I would get an answer like I have to wait and they're in processing with my case.
So should I contact them and ask about my case?

Just mention that you are aware of applications who were filed after yours that have been processed already, and you are wondering if they can give you a status update.

To do so, we invite you to complete the following forms and mail them to the Case Processing Centre (CPC) in Mississauga, Ontario. If the newly created family member is a child born in Canada, only the add-on request is required:

• A new Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking form (IMM 1344)completed by the sponsor,
• (If the application is still at the CPC in Mississauga) A new Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008) with supporting documents,
• (If you are adding a dependent child of a dependent child) A Financial Evaluation form (IMM 1283) with supporting documents,

and

• The add-on request including:
  • your name,
  • your client ID number/UCI,
  • your file number,
  • a detailed letter of explanation,
  • a copy of the birth certificate, marriage certificate or proof of common-law relationship, and
  • if applicable, the proof of payment.

Useful tips

• Please ensure to write ADD-ON on the forms and on the envelope.
• If you would like proof that your application was received, we suggest that you use registered mail with Canada Post or a courier service such as Purolator, UPS, FedEx, etc.

That's my concern.. applicant side only shows one line: "We received your application..." There used to be a line for when they started processing the app.

Submit IMM 1344 and IMM 0008, include a note that your son was born to you, a citizen, in Canada. You have to update those two forms, and include birth certificate.

They answered in case the child was born outside of Canada... So just the two forms, a note explaining your situation, and a birth certificate.

That doesn't matter. You could call and ask for a status update...

If you are in Ontario, it's illegal to not update any form of identification issued by any Ontario government agency. In fact, you have a week to do so. Each infraction carries a fine, and/or other action. I have reason to believe this is a universal rule.

Since your sponsor is legally bound to update their address, he might as well update it. They will give you something immediately to show the new address.

@Momo0630 it's similar in Quebec, you have a maximum of 30 days to update your address. So I would also suggest to update the address ASAP.

Thank a bunch brother for that advice. We are getting in December in india. The plan is she will obtain visitor visa in india before our marriage date without disclosing marriage. Then using the dec marriage docs i will apply for her PR.

My confusion is, if i apply her PR in india, will the visitor visa obtained before marriage still be valid. If it is not valid, then i will let her fly here first and then apply.

Have you seen visas stamped in past on the grounds of visiting boyfriend? I mean is that a safe way?
