I think it's very hard to say right now, as they completely changed the system. It's now based on a lottery, so by controlling the input, I presume it will come back to reasonable processing time.

Perhaps you can just invite them to visit and keep extending their stay? You'll have to get them health insurance but they will be with you.

They already have a multiple entry visa recently valid for 4 years. They applied a regular trv, not a supervisa.

Technically speaking, the present sponsorship is excluded (for now). When you go to file for your folks, you have to state the number of family members and you have to state your earnings (and you can have a co-sponsor in this to extend the LICO).

So get them on a plane and keep extending the six months allotment. CAD$100.00 per person, if I recall.
