Because you haven't yet gotten AIP, you might have to wait for your COPR to apply for OHIP. I don't think they will accept the "Processing is now complete" DM letter. AIP or COPR I think is it.

SIN, yeah definitely need COPR in your case. If you had an OWP, you can get a temp SIN, but there is no way you'll apply for that -- you'll land before you even submit it.
I have my sin and Ohip still. I guess I'll do it all when I land

Yeah, it wouldn't be worth repeating any of those steps again

@legolg @profiler
But as DM letter is a step further than AIP, I would definitely give it a try. The worst case, they say you're not eligible yet.

You missed a number... your mantissa is too short.... THIS IS NOW ALL WRONG

;)

@sylvain1 I was the funny prof at school. I would routinely tell my students (in a joking fashion) that what they were doing was ALL WRONG. Of course, only the ones who could pick up my humour from it.....

I would have agreed with you, except, ServiceOntario photocopied a letter template that they have in their training manual from CIC (it's AIP). They look for that letter specifically. They told me so. Otherwise, I would have agreed totally!

I could try it. Doesn't cost nothing lol

Totally true story. I think it made them smarter. Because once they realized I was kidding, they developed a means to refute my claim. To this day, students from those classes nag at me.... inviting me to pubs and such

If it's signed by you and by the CIC agent, it cannot be re-activated. It's already finished.

im confused do i still have to go to port of entry when then immigration officer told me that im a permanent resident and wait for my pr card after 3 months and told me to change my sin card while im still there which is already changed and it is starting now to number 6 only permanent resident can obtain number 6 if im not mistaken...is there another step....let me know

NO! Absolutely not! You're landed. Your consultant was negligent yet again and planted this bad idea. Just wait the few weeks for your PR Card to come, and enjoy Canada Day :)

BTW, the number 6 is for the "central region" on a SIN. 9 is temporary. That tells you it's for sure. They took your temporary and gave you a permanent one. They only do that once you've LANDED :)

Now you're really done! You just wait for your PR card. Current timing is 57 days + mailing time.

My boss told me not to stay until the end of the day -- but we have to finalize our time accounting today for projects we worked on.

I did try to weasel my way out of it.... unfortunately for me, he told me to "get that sorted first, then "go 'work' from home".

Just spoke to a CIC agent. My application had a final decision made (positive) on June 27th. I am waiting for a DM email, from that point max. 7 weeks for a landing interview in Etobicoke. In other words, Etobicoke office is currently 7 weeks to get an interview, she said. I can't believe this. I waited 12 years for this. I'm so so happy.
