Hi guys, I am May 3rd 2016 applicant and there is no change in my ECAS ( Sponsor: Processing, Applicant: Received). I know some June/May applicants are having some movement. I don't know if there is any problem in our application. MyCIC shows they are processing background. They asked for my new passport copy in march which I provided them and they confirmed in April since then nothing. Should I be worrying about my application?

No some March and April application s still in the same state. No issues.

Did they ask anything else??? That was likely a processing officer!

nada, but I asked some, lol....I asked when I might see things happening with the file, she said she couldnt give me a specific date or time but I should see something soon. She was so pleasant to talk to. Then that next week I got the DM in status and then the AIP letter. However, looking online when they corrected the address, they still got it wrong! I sent in another correction, oh well :( hope it doesnt delay anything now.

You can update on ECAS/MyCIC and you can call the call centre to verify. Shouldn't be an issue...

Hi there,

Quick question. On one of the application forms, my wife and I said "discontinue PA's application if the sponsor gets rejected" (the wording might be different). My wife's sponsorship application is still in process on ECAS and I got a medical exam request. So we don't even know if she will be approved, but IRCC wants me to go get checked and pay another bajillion dollars for medicals? What happens to that money if they decide that my wife is not eligible to sponsor?

Thanks.

The panel physician keeps your bajillion dollars. They rendered a service that's independent of CIC.

The fact is, it's pretty hard to not be eligible to sponsor. Sponsor must be:
- a Canadian or a PR
- not in prison or convicted of a violent crime against family
- not collecting social assistance
- not presently sponsoring someone else (that sponsorship must finish first...so 36mos)
- and not in default of child support payments

If all of the above is true. No problems. She will get approval.

Finally received the GCMS notes and boy is it confusing! lol. Some of it at least.. i did read the thread with some info on it but looks like the hold up for me could be because my wife was on social assistance a few years back and they're waiting on 1 out of 2 offices to confirm it's all good. Interesting to see also that they said exactly what was the issue with my Schedule A. Rather than saying to submit a new one or the generic fill in the gaps in like they did in the email/request letter.

However a lot of things has due date. What caught eye was something to do with it seems like the application itself has a due date? Said July 2nd :/

I paid 400 in Kelowna bc

I will stick with Trail then. Driving to Kelowna and back would definitely cost me more than $100... either way I have to pay a nice pile of money.

Due dates send reminders to officers to return to the case. My wife's file had a due date of May 11 2017. If that time expires, they just update it.

HI meaningful1, I'm just a day ahead of you. No news at all. No AOR either.
No acknowledgement of receipt??? You did not get any acknowledgement that "we (meaning ircc) received your application?
Besides that have you had any communication with them?
Did you do your medical and submit same upfront?

No Acknowledgment of Receipt. I only received OWP in the mail in Dec 2016. That's it. I didn't do medical upfront. No communication at all. Just patiently waiting.
