Yes, it is funny because I just felt that I will get my landing appointment today and that it will be before Canada day. So yesterday, my husband and I, went to dollar store and bought so many Canada day props lol. And we invited our friends for Canada day party. It's so funny how everything is like we imagined. My best friend got her PR last week, so we will celebrate together on Canada day

Something I did also think of, make sure that you have some form of status as well, for at least the next little while (90 days anyway). If you don't have an OWP or TRP that will be valid that long, you might want to apply for a TRP.

I really hope this works and you can resurrect the dead file. By the wording of the manual, you should be able to, if you tell them that you genuinely thought you submitted enough proof, that you did not get a request for more proof, or a procedural fairness letter.

Keep in mind, that you could, in theory, raise it to a federal court. They would argue that inlands cannot petition the court. But they also have to have a defensible position, that you cannot defeat. If they didn't follow process, or you state they didn't, then you have a reasonable shot at the court instructing them to reopen the file. In that case, it would also mean that you have a reasonable shot at the reconsideration actually working. Don't get your hopes up, just in case, but it's definitely worth the effort now.

I will be sitting on my hands waiting to hear if it actually works. It was a fluke that I ended up in that passage of IP-8 today. It was all @browning911 's fault. I was refreshing my remembery regarding the case finalization.

You are in Calgary right? Lately in Calgary they are processing landing appos faster than CIC sometimes, e.g. I still do not have SA, AIP letter or DM letter, Sponsor is still in process while I landed with no hassle last Tuesday. Weird but facts

I got DM on sponsor and applicant side in ECAS on Saturday. Landing letter came today. So I waited 2 days! I never got SA and AIP emails.

I don't think so at all. You canno convince me. I think it's too early to know because they still have to verify the stuff you sent. TBH: If they answered you by now, I would be worried that it was bad news...

That story isn't finished yet . Honest, they will need time to consider what you submitted. Maybe 60 days. Maybe they will ask you and your sponsor for an interview. But I am certain it's not dead.

Most won't cover it -- you can try, but most won't. We asked about the PR expenses, and our accountant said, "Nyet". So, no you can't claim those (so I am told).

Check your ECAS and or email. Also check ECAS after 8am Eastern tomorrow. I bet you just scored (or are about to score) AIP.

yes, I'm in Calgary. I know, they are not updating properly....my best friend landed on same day as you last week (but in the morning) and she still didnt get DM or SA
