Sooooo......I got landing letter today, just few minutes ago!!! Still in shock....My landing will be on June 29. Wow, I'll really have good celebration that day and for Canada day! I'm soooo happy and relieved, finally after 4.5 years that I'm in Canada, I got my PR

I wanna give thanks to all forum members, that helped all of us with their comments and advice's. I was following this thread for 15 months and I red all of 898 pages (yes, all of it!). So even though I didnt post anything at that time, I didnt have to, because all of my questions where answered in this forum. Please, dont stop answering, because there are so many other forum members who are just looking and not posting anything, but you still help them a lot. If anyone has any question, I'll be here to answer!

I got DM on sponsor and applicant side in ECAS on Saturday. Landing letter came today. So I waited 2 days! I never got SA and AIP emails.

Well, good on ya. I am not at all surprised that it was a fast transition. They have been pretty common lately. Ours wasn't, because of a stupid expired medical. BAH HUMBUG

So, hopefully you have come up with pretty good plans to celebrate Canada Day, as a newly minted PR

Ok, cool. Get your Statutory Declarations in there as well. You will not get another chance at this, unless you reapply. So, literally throw everything that you can at this. If you look in my signature, there is a link to what the same manual states for proofs for Relationship and Co-habitation.

Additionally, if you do look below the paste of the passage from IP-8, I did give you an example of what you might want to say. If you do want help authoring the letter, give me a shout. Hope it works out!

Something I did also think of, make sure that you have some form of status as well, for at least the next little while (90 days anyway). If you don't have an OWP or TRP that will be valid that long, you might want to apply for a TRP.

I really hope this works and you can resurrect the dead file. By the wording of the manual, you should be able to, if you tell them that you genuinely thought you submitted enough proof, that you did not get a request for more proof, or a procedural fairness letter.

Keep in mind, that you could, in theory, raise it to a federal court. They would argue that inlands cannot petition the court. But they also have to have a defensible position, that you cannot defeat. If they didn't follow process, or you state they didn't, then you have a reasonable shot at the court instructing them to reopen the file. In that case, it would also mean that you have a reasonable shot at the reconsideration actually working. Don't get your hopes up, just in case, but it's definitely worth the effort now.

Yes, it is funny because I just felt that I will get my landing appointment today and that it will be before Canada day. So yesterday, my husband and I, went to dollar store and bought so many Canada day props lol. And we invited our friends for Canada day party. It's so funny how everything is like we imagined. My best friend got her PR last week, so we will celebrate together on Canada day
