Hello everyone,

Quick question for people who have submitted/gone through medical:

Are chest x-rays, lab tests, etc. required?
According to CIC's website: "They may refer you for chest x-rays and laboratory tests."

Did everyone submit everything? The clinic in our city will do everything for $400, it seems a little steep.
I did my medical recently and I paid exactly $400.
Examiner:$250
X-rays:$50
Lab Tests:$100
I live in Edmonton, AB.

Hello Guys,
So we got a request today for fingerprinting. I was wondering that is it normal? Do they normally request it to everyone or in just some cases for some particular reason?
I did finish doing the fingerprinting today and they said they will send it to Ottawa RCMP. And if there is no criminal activity matching to my finger prints then it will take from a week to 3 weeks. We haven't heard anything on SA or AIP yet.

This is epic, so I checked mycic ecas an hour ago, except they were reviewing my eligibility, nothing else showed up. 10 minutes ago upon a short walk I just pulled out my iphone and bingo, a landing interview app on 13th June from directly Calgary CIC office, LOL, no indication of such a letter in either ecas or mycic, no DM nothing at all. All under process. Now a quick question, they just want me to bring this letter, photo, payment of fees receipt, sponsor and passport along with all work permit/ study permit. Nothing else is mentioned to be taken. Should I take anything else guys? But still can't believe that nothing on either system and direct landing appo letter. Surreal?? Unreal?? still in haze :D Cheers. BTW June, 01 applicant here.
Me too! Ecas switched to Decision Made this morning and I got an email for landing later that day. Looks like we'll be landing the same day!

Really? What country are you from?

Nothing. How normal it is not to get anything about SA?

This is a pretty common question. There are many reporting not getting notices for SA, AIP, or even DM. We didn't see a DM until 2 days before my wife landed. So, my point is: they can be delayed in sending them, or they can be sent to the wrong email address, etc.

One thing you can do, is log into ECAS as your sponsor and check under the "Decision Made" link. If it says they sent you correspondence regarding the decision, then they did actually send it. If it's not there, they have yet to sent that letter to your sponsor.

To answer your follow up question: SA - Sponsorship Approval. This would be correct, and is one of two approvals for inland applications during the first stage. The next is Approval in Principle (AIP).

AIP means you have met the criteria for being a member of the "Family Class" (usually this is where they will ask for more proofs, or the traditional Relationship Interview, before deciding). Once those are completed, your file will move onto the second stage. This is where your Medical, Security, and Criminality checks come into play. Providing the officer(s) are happy with the evidence in the first stage, and have passes for all three additional components, they issue a DM.

They have been requesting QA interviews as of late. They randomly select files to have a quick interview with, for CIC to get the "warm and fuzzies" about the approval(s) issued for the file. They added this because they are trying to process a lot more files then they typically do in the older process.

Anyone order GCMS notes recently? Is it still taking 30+ days?

so i had got a DM on both sides in my ECAS a few days back and then received an email confirmation as well/

I paid the RPRF however no landing yet.

Does someone know how long does it take to get landing after payment of rprf ?

I did order it recently. The automated email said it will take 30 + days to receive it

It's totally location-specific. Some offices are fast, others are slower due to their volume of work....

Interesting format but why do you think they asked for my medical first? I haven't received SA nor AIP. It also says they're reviewing my background check now.. a few days after the medical request. (Not passed as yet)

Yes, still 30 days however they responded in maybe 2 weeks requesting a signature then a few days after to resend the file because my wife accidentally sent it in a onedrive/cloud file which they had no acccess too. All within 30 days

I believe it's based off of your location. As some even pay the fee upfront on the application. The interviews are coming faster where it's less busy which makes completely sense. Toronto/ Etobicoke, Montreal are the busiest apparently.

that was our case also. Don't worry about the status on "mycic", it is not always updated. My wife's status for eligibility and for background was in process until she landed (several weeks after SA, AIP, and DM). We got medical request in December 2016, but SA, AIP and DM only in March 2017.
The fact they asked for your medical is a good sign, it means they started to work on your file.
